I ordered a set off e-bay as well. 52 dollars and some change to my door. Prolly kick the cel and go bad in a few months but, I will give them a shot since they are the price of one at the parts store. OH YEAH, don't order from partsgeek whatever you do.
uh-huh
Wouldn't let me change the fluid in his 98 vette. He took it to Carl Hogan Chevrolet where they had the tools to completely flush the transmission. ****er didn't roll off the rack. Guess he should have been content with just pulling the pan. It would have bought him a few more miles.
I would think a gasket like mentioned. A burnt valve can give a car a rough idle like that. Maybe do a compression test before pulling the intake if you can't find a vacuum leak.
If the idle is rough enough, you could pull the power to the coils one plug at a time. Whichever cylinder you pull...
Little update, finally got the car mechanically sound. All I like is a tail light and a fog light. And the mechanic I bought the car from is absolutely sick. He told me he feels like he gave it to me. I got around 1500 in this thing including the fuel pump, 8 plugs, 1 coil, 4 new tires and a 4...
I did mine in about an hour this morning along with the plugs. I would figure anywhere from 45-75 dollars...If you do it yourself, make sure to use air and blow out the holes before removing the plugs. Otherwise, all that crap falls on the piston.
I haven't torn one down but, I have a friend that is a diesel mechanic that bought one from his brother. The car had a bottom end knock. I want to say he put mains in it. He may have done it like mentioned above. I do know for a fact he built the bottom end and the car ran perfectly until he...
If something is a bitch to get to, I always replace them when I replace the one I think is the problem. Then replace the others as needed. Most of the time this would refer to coil packs that are covered by a plenum and the plenum would need to be removed. The v-8 ls is a different story though.
I don't know about outside the car, I will check tomorrow though. The lights do flash when I hit the button on the key fob.
It was the fuel pump. When the mechanic checked it, he swore he didn't have power to the fuel pump. He had multiple diodes, relays, and fuses under the hood and in the...
I got it fixed guys. Funny thing though, the security light never comes on or flashes. From what I understand, that isn't suppose to happen but, the car runs with no cel's on the dash :)
Hello all, I bought a 2000 ls from a mechanic the other day. He had been fooling with it a while and claimed it needed to go to the ford dealership to have a key made.
Little history about the car; it was repossessed without the original key, only a key for the doors. The key for the doors...
