Because the piece of key was lodged in the cylinder it made it unable to turn. The key fob or the in car release turn the cylinder which in turn unlocks the trunk. No cylinder turn no unlock. Capice?

The broken lock precluded the mechanism from unlocking.

So a piece of my trunk key broke off in the cylinder and froze it. $40. to a locksmith and voila! Surgery done, rekeyed and new keys. Now all I need is a mod to helpe.with the other and I am golden.

The cylinder itself is broken.

By the way this is not my first post. I have been here for years as Doc1 but lost my email address when I sold my business. So I had to start over again.

My mechanical lock does not work on my Mark. Where can I go to have it replaced?
