I decided to let the V6 go- the hunt continues. Looking for a 04-05 V8 in silver.

I appreciate all the advice and differing opinions. So far the dealer is not moving. Maybe its a regional thing - seems like a sellers market for the LS in south jersey (at least those that are in top shape).

In my research I've found that most of the 2005 V6's for sale are prior rentals and they are base cars. Most of them can be had for $19-20K. The one I'm looking at is a premium with every option (no navi) in pristeen condition with 15k on the clock. At this point I don't have anything more...

Does anyone else see it? I know the designers were targeting BMW performance wise but they really nailed it appearance wise. The look of the previous gen 740 is beautiful (imo) thats what keeps me coming back to the LS when I get in the car-shopping mood.

Well I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I agree with the comments on the power of the 03+V6 - feels a good bit stronger than the VQ in my maxima. I disagree on the price comments - KBB trade on the 03 is 16.2 and edmonds is 17.6. Comparables on autotrader are 16900-19900. So I have to decide...

I finally found a clean 2003 v6 - silver- premium everything - including chrome wheels- buying from a ford dealer. It has 15,000 miles on it- price is 17900. Still under warranty- appears to be in excellent condition. Clean carfax. Does the price sound fair? Is there anything I should check...

Well as far as the tranny its under warranty till july 2007 and I would probably get an ESP sometime before it expires. Dealer was asking 23k went down to 22k won't budge from there. I can buy an 02 for 18k I'm surprised at the price difference between the 02 and 03. I guess the market prices in...

Right- the other thing I'm concerned about on this car are the OASIS history shows warranty work for an EVAP system leak and a bad ABS sensor and also apparently a few squeak and rattle complaints by the original owner (not sure what to make out of that). Any similar problems with your 03 ?

thks - I'm thinking it might be the trans oil cooler line. the 03's do have one right? I just don't see why they covered just that small part of the line.

Sounds like these guys are just jerking you along until you've had the car so long the whole issue becomes cloudy. I would get a lawyer involved now. i know most of us hate to resort to that because of expense and aggravation involved but sometimes theres no choice. Good luck, I hope it works...

joebman- does the auto dim mirror fit in the stock mount?- I was thinking about doing this on a v6 base but the lincoln service rep told me it couldn't be done. Let me know - thks.
