The 98 is going in for its first dyno tune. I had the car pulled just for numbers in 2010 and it made 249 rwhp corrected on the mail order tune. It now has the Cobra intake and will be entirely re-tuned. What will it put :shifty:down?

278 rwhp @ 6000< rpm. I'm jealous man, I have to wait till august. What are they gonna charge you?

$425 which includes wiping the slate clean and starting over using my existing chip. That is for 2 hours which is typically sufficient enough time. I will post videos after the tune. It's going to be a bit quicker I would assume. :)

Make sure you get a video of your dyno runs! Everybody here will want to see/hear:D

Make sure to tell the guy you want torque management completely removed.

They did dyno tune my buddys 98 mark its not as stock though d1sc.
Pump gas minimum psi 430 hp
They did have some problems with the transmission shifting into n from od.

It'll be interesting to see if they really know what they're doing as regards to a Mark VIII tune. There are some significant differences as compared to a tune for a '98 Cobra that took me a while to find and correct.

For example:

Thanks Doug. I'm going to print this out. What's your opinion on removing torque management?

I wouldn't waste my time printing that out, dyno shops are not going to follow something that was posted on the forum, they will be insulted by it. As long as they get your A/F in the 12.7-13.0 range at WOT you should be fine as the pulls will be done in 3rd gear anyway. Torque management retards timing in between shifts and slows your car down in order to protect transmission longevity.

BTW, I have never had a transmission failure due to removing torque management. I had it removed in my 95 LSC, my current 98 LSC, and my GTO. It will shave off a tenth off your 1/4 mile time by itself easily.

Thanks. I will have them remove the torque management and I will not print that out. LOL ;)

Ditto... 265 HP if they don't know the Mark VIII. :p

Anything beyond that would be proportional to their knowledge.

Good luck! :)

I go though Shakopee every day at 4......except Tuesdays or I would stop in.
