Just wreckt the LS...

From my examination (in the dark) I would say the fender is unharmed, I ran my hand along for body creases and could not feel any.

I am worried about the damage adding up as well..

I am sure the invoice will look something like this:

1: Hood
2: Bumper (+ foglights for LSE bumper?)
3: HID Headlight (I think these are close to $1000 retail a piece)
4: Misc. Brackets (light, bumper, fogs)
5: Grille
6: Misc. Underhood plastic pieces

There is no damage to mechanical parts that I can see, the radiator looks unharmed and I am not losing any fluids out there.

I am dreading the estimates.. I wonder what % AllState will total my car..

It is fully paid for BTW if that matters... Not sure I am so lost with this wrecking thing...

glad you r ok bro....i had a guy do something like that too me today but i was going slow enough to avoid him....your ls will be back to good condition before you know it...

I can imagine how you feel man, just hang in there. Most important of all is you are allright. Your LS kept you safe.

Sorry to here about your LS.

there is a cross-member that is part of the unibody, runs behind the lights. that is the piece that they will have to cut and weld - or ....

Yeah I was just about to mention that piece. Also, I guarantee you're going to have to replace your headlight mounting panel as well.

well keep us posted and let us know how everything goes...

That sucks man, I'm interested to see what your insurance company says. Good thing you weren't going faster or that Saturn might have been on top of your head.

expensive lesson... dont swerve.. hit the offending vehicle, not some innocent bystander.
sucks..and I'm sorry to say..but "it is what it is".

Same goes for animials/deer/dogs/cats/squirrels.
DONT SWERVE, just hit em.

had you allowed the explorer to hit you, chances are he would not have driven away..because he would have been upside down in the road.

Wow dude, that really sucks. I would've laid on the horn, and kept in my lane though.

Hope she's fixed and back on the road soon.

when my 1st gen got the front ripped off by some b!tch that ran a red light, the dammage was much worse that that and they fixed it, but it all comes down to how much it cost to repair it vs how much to just pay it off.

asXLR siad, next time make sure the f#$^%er that causes it, is the dude that you hit, other wise (at least here in michigan) if you swerve to miss something and then you hit something else, then the accident is your fault no matter what (by the cops AND your insurance company), sure the cop could also give him a ticket for causing it, but your the one that lost control of your vehicle and that caused a wreck with another car, its totally bullsh!t, but thats how they roll, glad you weren't hurt

and then you could have fist f*ucked that bag of douche right in the face.

if you swerve to miss something and then you hit something else, then the accident is your fault no matter what

same in texas,
failure to control vehicle
failure to avoid collision

it doesnt matter if you were avoiding a stupid driver or not.

you must retain control of your vehicle and avoid collisions, otherwise YOU are "At fault"...period.

nice choice of words

thats just how i remember feeling when my baby was taken from me, i was even more pissed when i found out it was some low birth weight son of a b1tch female driving, I'll punch a dude, but a B1tch no mater how stupid, is still a b1tch.

Exactly what I said to the officer...

I was like "So next time i just clip the guy coming into my lane and cause him to wreck worse?"

He had no response and just said "What you should have done, was just brake and avoid him"

I was astonished, and I even drew him a little diagram just like the one I have here on paper so he could hear my case... Basically I looked like an idiot trying to make excuses that I decided to run my car into the back of a 94' saturn.

The cops don't care, they just want to write the standard ticket for the guy in the back and move on with their night. That's it... I want to fight it but honestly I dunno how my case will hold up without the driver of the Explorer anywhere to be found.

I forgot to mention, Everyone was OKAY and I was the only one hurt, as I jammed my wrist on my steering wheel..

And LJ, what makes you think I am not repairing my car? Just cuz it was wrecked doesn't mean its totalled...

Do you guys think it is totalled from that!?

I am so sad and mad right now... I dunno what to feel actually..

lol, i know you got insurance i was just joking, i just wanted to be the first to jump on it like the vultures we are.

I am talking to the insurance agent tomorrow. I have full coverage so I am covered. I am not sure if AllState has a specific shop here, but I will take your advice of telling the guy what to order... I just hope he doesn't think I am trying to swindle my ins. company by ordering non-stock (for my year) parts?

I remeber a thread a while back, probably years where a guy wrecked his front bumper and got an LSE bumper out of it.

Thanks for anymore info. I wonder if the body shop would order from a place like LS Koncepts?

alteast in my state, you get to decide where you want to take your car to be fixed, not the insurance

Any word on anything yet, hopefully they will just cut you a check for the damage and you can fix it yourself ,but sometimes they wont do that when it is such a high amount, but that would be sweet if they did because you could probally have about 4 or 5 grand left over after you fixed it..:D

Just got home from work. Spoke with AllState agents for like an hour about all this and giving them the other drivers infos.

Anyways, they're gunna call me back and tell me where to take the car to get an estimate, apparently they have a preferred shop here for estimates, then I can take it to wherever I want to repair it...

I am thinking I will get a check for the $ amount stated by their shop's estimate, then I am free to do what I want with the claim money.

I will find out more when they call me back I'm sure.

Will keep you all posted!

EDIT: one more thing, should I use LSE front fascia numbers for the estimate at the preferred shop? I guess I should cuz I assume they are more expensive? I wonder how that will work...

A few photos with a little more daylight... Sucks getting off work @ 5 and it is almost dark already...

Well I guess thats one way to open up the headlights with no oven and black sealant.

Is the lse grill in one piece? Looks like it didn't get damaged, well from the pictures. If your fogs light didn't get damaged and you're getting the lse bumper, I'll buy them off of you. Let me know
