Just wreckt the LS...

I dont think they will care, just get the estimate first ,then after that you can tell them you want to get your own parts , that way you will know if they are trying to rip you off or not.. you would just subtract the parts off the estimate they gave you.. oh and let me know if you got that list

Yea you are for sure gonna have some money left over ,you can get a lse bumper for $275 , a headlight for $50 ,A grill for $150 ,probally a hood for $250 and im sure you could put all that stuff on your self..

$50 for an HID 2nd gen headlight? Try adding a zero. Andrizzle I'll still buy your emblem off the trashed grille if you're interested in selling it.

Getting estimates in the morning. So just bring the LSE part numbers. With me and don't mention my own parts unless it's the shop I want?

I am so reAdy to be done with all of this. I want my ls looking good again :(

what you should do is get the money from the insurance, get the parts as cheap as you can, and do your OWN labor, you save most of your money

I cannot paint stuff this big, and I am sure there is tons of bent and broken miscellaneous things that I cannot conveniently order.

The only thing I would consider providing would be the LSE Bumper Package, grill, and headlight.

Okay for my LSE parts I have for the estimates, I got:

1: grille
2: bumper cover
3: lower grille moulding insert
4: fog lamp R/L
5: fog bulbs R/L
6: fog mount brackets R/L
7: HID Headlamp

Am I missing anything for an LSE front fascia upgrade? The hardware on my 04 will mount the LSE bumper correct?

i would let them just price it out and see what they come up with, but just make sure you mention that you need the hid headlights...Every shops estimate is going to be different..just for the fact if they cant find a lse bumper they might try looking for one on ebay or somewhere else instead of ordering a factory part and its going to be cheaper..and the difference in price really isnt that much...

Let them price it together? But what if they don't know about the different dogs, and mounts etc?

yea your gonna wanna get the highest estimates ..I would just take it there and see what they come up with...How many estimates do you have to provide and is the insurance company making you use one of their estimates too..Usually its 3 so you would need 2 more and they will probally take the average. So do that and then just go to a couple more places and get one to give you a price with the parts you want ,letting them find the parts for you and then get another one with you providing the parts, but dont give those 2 estimates to the insurance company. Then just figure out which one works out the best in your favor.

I actually only have to send in one estimate to AllState.

I am calling my adjuster in the morning to clarify some things and I will not be able to go to any shops tomorrow like I thought, but Monday I suppose I can in the morning.

My newest concern is the lady i spoke with on the phone with my insurance company told me the shop has to fax the estimate in to them at AllState. That kinda makes it hard to get multiple estimates and send in the fairly higher one... It seems kind of strange to go back to the shop i got an estimate at and ask them to fax something for me... lol

I am gunna call and see if I can just fax them the estimate.

UHG THIS IS SUCH A HASSEL

Just go back to the one with the highest estimate and say "I just called my insurance and they said the shop had to fax them the estimate not me, can you fax it to them? thanks" and problem solved.

FUUUUUUUUU Just read this thread - your's is one of the nicest LSes on here! :(

if you are looking for the highest estimate, go back to a LM dealer. they will be more familiar with the damage and the cost of parts will be higher than most.

Yea I got a list of the shops I am taking it, will be visiting them over the next 3 days as most of them are open till about 530 or 6 at the latest... And I get off work @ 5 so I don't have much time to do these. But I figured if I spread them out over a few I can get alot done.

I already know the place where I think it is going to be the highest estimate, and then i think the place that I would feel most comfortable getting it fixed at is one of the lower prices ones... That is the plan anyways from what I have heard.

Will keep ya posted

Just get the damn car fixed and stop worrying about saving money for accessories. You're going to most likely get a piss poor job done screwing around

Just cause you pay more for something doesnt mean its better...

Okay I had time for one estimate at a shop that is known for being one of the more cheaper when it comes to repair costs.

~$7500 Is what he came up with.

After the experience I am not so sure I want them to fix it... The guy acted like he just didn't care and when I mentioned to him how I have an LSE grill and want the 06 bumper and everything he just acted like he wasn't listening or something... He didn't even shake my hand... I felt like maybe he thought I was coming in looking for estimates and not actually gunna get it fixed there. So I emphasized how they do their work and i commented on some of the things I like - like for instance their progress photos they upload online for clients to see their car get repaired as it goes.

He just was not very friendly and when I read the estimate, I said so if I bring you some of my own parts on this list, we can subtract those out and just charge for paint and labor correct? He said yes. I mentioned how I may have an 06 bumper, fogs, brackets, an LSE grill, and an HID headlight around... lol

Anyways I am kinda scared knowing this one is alot more than I expected and it is supposed to be one of the lower ones on my list.

Anyways here is a few of the major cash pieces on the estimate invoice:

(in rank of most expensive)

#1 HID headlamp - $1659.97
#2 Hood - $1494.32
#3 Front Bumper Cover - $566.21

That is the major ones, after that it is random parts.

Summary:
Parts were $4700
Labor/Paint $2800

I could get the headlight and that 06 LSE Bumper/Fogs (LSK) for probably $1200 ish (I think a member selling this headlight)
Then the LSE grill on the invoice is listed at just over 200 bucks, I think I can get that on LSK also for like 170ish if I recall correctly.

man everybody thought when i said $6000-$6500 i was crazy ,you better be careful though if the estimate gets to high they will total it out.. I dont really know what the bb is on that and what percentage they use in your state but with $7500 it will be close..

When I did it on KBB site it was around 9k

Man this sucks I can't believe this amount of damage could total the LS...

Some of you seen the pics of my LS involved in the accident with the cop car.

Mine was totalled out. Insurance company will total your car if the repairs costs more than what the car is worth.

I had a 2005 Lincoln LS V6 Base Model w/ 57,000 miles, and they gave me 13,000 for it. This was about a month ago.

So your set :)

P!S!
SELL ME YOUR RIMS!

you have watch who you're dealing with. They should stiff you and by charging more on the labor since you brought your own parts. Also, they most likely not back their own work b/c of that...

See if you have Tru2form body shop near you, they do great work
