Kenne-bell told me they would'nt sell it, so I'll make one myself.

Here is MY opinion.

I would build it non intercooled with a stock 03/04 blower and push 4-5psi of boost and call it good!
 
I have a couple questions since I have never looked how a "B" head plenum bolts up. Are there bolt holes on the inside part as well or are there only bolts on the edge? Because if the intercooler has to be welded in ( I am assuming its in/out water ports have to be welded to seal the chamber) then I guess there has to be access ports to get to the bolts. Would you just put a rubber plug there or let the blower just blow a little hot ait through the holes?



Now I see all the issues. An adapter plate is a simple inexpensive thing compared to adding a heat exchanger to it. Just added $600 to its cost with the inner and outer exchangers, pump, resivoir and hoses.

EDIT: I agree with KK but if there was just a simple port in the front and rear to spray a meth system then it would cool excellent like that and you could run 9 psi very well.
 
when I was in school they told me an intercooler was cooled by coolant and an aftercooler was cooled by air

I may be thinking too far ahead, but what about gaskets? just spooge some RTV between the 2 halves of that intake or ?

BTW, the more I read this thread... the more I want one!
 
I came over from modular fords but Im very interested in this for my Cobra espcially with the intercooler. Keep us posted

I have all the terminator intake pics and information I need. I'm just waiting for the Eaton M112 I just bought to be delivered by the UPS guy. I have to have it in my posession to get the geometry inserted into Inventor so I can get the s/c's backspacing correct to line the pulley up with the rest of the belt system.

What you COULD help me with is....If you have ANY pictures of your alternator relocation bracket post em'. I could use the hell out of those.

Mike alternator relocation would be the LAST thing on my mind cause hell all the other people seemed to do it that way... ever see an AED M90 kit... lol

Most likly use an AN bulkhead fitting thru the manifold, attach the hoses to the inside and out side. Should be an easy solution.
 
Standard hoses attach to the cooler and connect to a block that bolts on to the face of the manifold and forms a seal against the milled surface as shown. Remember this isn't high pressure so you don't have to over think it. The block then has two nibs screwed into it for the outside hoses that go to the pump and heat exchanger.
 
So when all parts are made how much will all this cost, this sounds like this will work and if inexpensive this could make you alot of money from us and the stang guys.
 
I think it will work well, B heads love boost. this is the best I've saw anyone come up with for a eaton swap. I have a 97 cobra with twin 60 t4 turbos and this is just the bottom end punch I need. I don't know if it would be more feasible to look at a bolt on lower pulley like the aftermarket lightning pulleys as opposed to a machined snout but either way it will be great.
 
i think your on the right track with a plastic prototype to get everything mocked up and get the kinks worked out.

Just to let you guys know.


There will be NO intercooler for this kit,(THIS one anyway). The core size allowed by the intake will be more of an airflow restriction, than the cooler air provided will help. To add to that, I am TRYING to keep things as in-expensive as possible.

My goal when starting this thing, was to bolt an Eaton onto B-heads with little to no fabrication and as little expense as possible. I am aiming for 375-400 Horsepower and a FLAT torque curve which will make the car MUCH more fun to drive. The guys who want more than that will need to think about C-heads and the supporting hardware. The average MarkVIII can't handle much more than 400 HP without suspension and body reinforcements so I figure this kit will be a daily driver friendly setup.


As far as money is concerned, With the addition of an intercooler you have.................

Price of the CORE, cost to fabricate and weld end tanks, additional machining on the lower plenum, bulkhead for I/C lines, external hoses and lines, Pump, heat exchanger, resiviour, and fan to keep everything as cool as possible.


I have recieved ALOT of interest from VIII and Cobra guys about this, so I am going to go ahead and deal with cranky engineers, and money hungry out sourcing, to get this kit in the works.


Once I figure out the geometry between the S/C, Alternator, hood clearance,(Lincoln AND Mustang) I'll work on an intercooled kit.

I say make the adapter and sell it and let anyone who wants one figure the rest out them selves... you did mention Kenne Belle right :D
 
I still want one. If I have to have a port front and rear drilled to hold a meth nozzel then thats cool. A chemical intercooler would work excellent if it can be sprayed directly under the blower and cover as much area as possiable. I think two small nozzels would work well placed front/rear.

A lot of guys would be happy picking up a used Eaton and slapping it on. What more do you need for a daily driver or weekend warrior really?

My only request is that you consider leaving some extra room for a 2nd boss for either another injector or as a nitrous port. That's all it would take to make me happy.:D

Give me some rough dimensions for the upper and lower and I'll get a quote for you on the aluminum stock for your reference.
