New--Mark VIII Headers

What kind of headers?

I would take a set of uncoated stainless longtubes..

winter weather and coated does not hold up

I voted long-tube, but isn't $700 a bit steep? Isn't that the price of the Kooks mid-lengths? I thought you could grab a set of Cobra 4v headers for less than $300 and just mod the driver's side one for the steering shaft...

Kooks gen1 $815
gen2 $835

I wouldn't buy a cheap set of headers for anything I own.

You get what you pay for.

my point is what is actually the gain from 3/4 tolongtubes? another foot of pipe for what 5hp? stainless for sure, and the longtubes are already 100 cheaper than kooks so thsts a no brainer, but im not going to switch just because.

you also can make just about anything mike need to talk to you about another sibject and dont want to hijack thread.
shoot me apm or we can talk b vs c head/ intake?

Neither would I, BUT I think that longtubes would provide a noticeable gain over the 3/4 length Kooks. It all depends on HOW long they actually are. I've seen a set of longtubes custom made for a buddy's CVPI Panther platform that were quite a bit longer than the Stainlessworks LT offerings for those cars and if comparable in length, a set of custom LTs for these cars could very possibly have quite a bit more length. Personally, I think another foot in length is pretty significant.

I voted LTs regardless of the material just because those would provide the most gains. But as you said, too late now. I guess I'll have to make up that HP elsewhere. :D

I will say though, the Kooks to me almost seem to be leaning more towards the "shorty" end of the scale. I was surprised how short they were when I first got them, but we've all adapted and there are some crazy fast cars on these forums running these headers.

+300 to LT's. As long as they'll last, that's all I'm concerned with - and I'm in FL.

any updates on these headers being produced or is this a waste of time ??????

haha your probably going to end up getting bugged till we get an answer

after reading this entire thread i would not be suprized if he just gave up on this idea. it sure seams to me that people want long tube stainless headers and he already said NO STAINLESS. so this project probably isnt worth his time anymore. Of course i hope im wrong they see that stainless is the way to go because i too would be willing to get a set for mine.

I would rock a set even if they weren't stainless. I won't pay $800 for scp midlengths and get **** customer service. John if you make these you will have my business

Well then I guess you'll be twittling your thumbs for awhile. I ordered my kooks from SCP and had them in 5 business days. I didn't have to deal with customer service. I placed the order, and they came. Simple as that. Now if you want headers made out of gold, then you might have to call customer service.

Very true. Ive heard bad things about them from here on lvc. I also want to support a guy who is trying to bring out some new aftermarket stuff for our cars, and I'd really like a set of longtubes over a set of mids. Hows your car been running post dyno?

You guys are nuts, polished headers...I know why, buy...WHY??

I'd get headers if I planned on running people over, expecting compliments

I got headers to uncork the car all the way up to the engine block. Lots of hotrodders do it man and I am a hotrodder. I don't care what anyone says or claims, I will not run anything but stainless headers. You're kinda right though. I do get lots of compliments. I don't get how that correlates with running people over though. LOL

Good man. It definitely feels faster and capable of low 13s.
