Man those jag rims look so hard on the LS. What kind are they? I might want to pick some up.
 
So today I was getting inpatient as I had not received a shipping email from dipyourcar.com for my items. I emailed fonzie and right after I sent the email, I found the ups shipping email in my junk folder. Eventhough it was Sunday, Fonzie replied within 30 min and made sure I had found the email.

Thats some good customer service. I wasnt expecting to get a response until early next week. Ill be buying all my plastidip items from them.
 
I have been the same way. I have gotten an email from dipyourcar but in the delivery status its blank. I keep checking it constantly cause I want to no when its going to get here! Haha
 
Yeah I was confused at first, as the status on paypal does not say "in transit", but when i looked through my junk mail and found the ups email, it stated a delivery date.

I ordered the gunmetal wheel kit and 3 cans of silver metalizer. I want to see if I can acheive a hyper metalic silver/ bright silver look as my stock 5 spokes are peeling.
 
Dont worry ill let you look at my rims while you wait for you kit :D

That's really the only reason i bought from them...good customer service. I had found a seller on ebay, that after totaling my order would be a few bucks cheaper, and i would probably receive my order much quicker because they were in Jersey, but again the customer service level won me over. Talked to Fonzie about my plans, asked for suggestions, and he got back to me within a couple of hours at most. He even complimented my car lol

FYI dipyourcar.com's shipping rates are pretty crazy. The wheel kit was $22.50 and shipping cost me $18.75.

Yea shipping is pretty crazy, but youll see that the more you order your shipping costs actually stop going up as much. I ordered a matte kit from them, again because of customer service, and because i was getting the metalizers as well. Otherwise i would have just went to my local home depot and got the black dip from there. Taking shipping into consideration it would have probably been cheaper lol

Hurry and do your project lol I'm wanting to redo my barcelonas, i'm not completely happy with the color i got. Looking forward to your results.
 
^^ I know, im excited but wont get my items until March 3rd. Hey did you use index cards to cover up your tires? or just wrapped them with tap and paper?
 
Do you really even need to use the index cards? in one of fonzies videos he just sprayed on the tire and pealed it off.
 
Just peel it off, no need to tape off the rubber.

But index cards are probably easier to place than the thing overspray is to rip off.

yea, but if you dont spray it thick enough, its a real pain in the a$$ to remove. Might as well spend 1 to 2 minutes putting down the index cards and save yourself the clean up time.

I ordered my items on the 16th of February. The UPS tracking shows that they got notifications of the shipping request on the 16th. There was an original delivery date of the 23rd but for some reason it got pushed back to the 3rd.

Not sure what it was due to, but I was in no hurry to begin with so it didnt bother me at all.

Is it a big order? Sometimes UPS outsources the final leg to USPS and the transfer can take a while. Its dumb. Try tracking it on this site: http://trackthepack.com/
 
No its actually a small order. Only a 4 wheel kit and 3 extra cans.
 
im plasti dipping my stock rims. im thinking about doing 4 coats of black nd leaving it a flat black. but i am doubting whether i should do a couple coats of glossifier. any suggestions whether i should do a flat black of make them a shiny black, if so how many coats of black and glossifier will do the job?
 
like a charcoal gray with a hint of brown. stock alloy 2002 rims i think they are 7 spoke
 
So youve all heard me talking about dipyourcar.com and their great customer service, well im impressed once again.

Heres a summary of what happened. I orded the gunmetal wheel kit with 3 cans of silver metalizer. I received my package on the 2nd and oddly enough I received another yesterday.

For some reason they sent me two. I emailed Fonzie and this is what he wrote.

"I truly appreciate the heads up. We noticed a second package went out to you the day it happened - but chose not to pull it back. We are a new company, and it doesn't hurt to have a little extra product out in circulation. Use it, sell it, give it away - up to you sir. Again, I appreciate the communication."

So should I use it , sell it, or give it away :D. BTW they have lower shipping rates now. Ill be going on a plastidip rampage.
