Official Plasti-Dip Thread

Quick question before I try and do my chrome around the windows. Those of you that have had the Plasti dip on for a while can you tell me how well it holds up to car washing and environmet??? I dont go through car washes but sometimes use the bucket and brush at work. Does it peel/come off easily on it's own???

If it does I would do it the way I did my Mark VII with self etching primer and flat moulding paint, that held up well on that cat. Never had it peel or anything. Just more time consuming than the Plasti-dip.

Thanls,

Nick

I picked these up off craigslist. Got the spokes done. Now I am debating if I should use the silver Metalizer and/or the Glossifier. I was thinking one coat of Metalizer then couple of coats of Gloss. But they look pretty good matte.
What do you guys think?

Matte is the :q:q:q:q. I would leave them as is. You can always add the Metalizer and such afterwards if you decide you dont like it.

Mine held up great on my OEM wheels. I just peeled it off Friday night, and there were only a few marks.

I was bored and used the metalizer then gloss. It messed up some of my edges but whatever. I can pull it off later if it bothers me. Pics don't do it justice 1 coat of metalizer and it sparkles like crazy in the sun. Plus I can always go make to matte.

I'll take some more pics when they are mounted.

Im digging that...great job

looks good man. I personally like the lip. I like something that separates the rim from the tire.I'm not very fond of rims blending in with the tires (eventhough my wheels are black right now -_-) LOL

The only place around me that carries it is Home Hardware at $20 a can. If the "Whole Car Kit" is the same thing as the Small Pro Kit in the US section then its a pretty good deal. Although it depends on what they charge for shipping from Quebec I guess.

Anybody looking to dip their entire car? I might be ordering a large amount of dip and would have some extra gallons....

I'm hoping I don't have to, but we will see. I have been talking with Plastidip and a few of their distributors all week. For the color I want it has to be done as a special order so they said I need to purchase at least 4 gallons and wait 4-6 weeks for delivery.

i think the "color" (not sure if you told yet) you're ordering would look sick if the rovers where dipped in black
