I want the cdc mesh to be darker so it can match the lower grille better. What do you guys suggest. A shiny onix chrome (a little darker than black chrome according to the shop) or powder coat it gloss black?

Onyx chrome? Sounds like the secks. I'm going to see if I can find a pic of that.

Hello new to the forum, alax is that the grill that you made?

No, this is the real cdc grille, the one I made looks the same though. This mesh is held in placethe by the 2 piece grille, not glued on like the one I made. I dont know how the powder coating process goes but I doubt I can get the replica grille powder coated with it attached to the grille.

That gloss black isn't too glossy...from the pics I'd go with black chrome or onyx.

Thanks guys. Onyx chrome it is!

if you dont like the onyx you can always repaint it, it looks like the lower grill is more satin black though.

Yeah, I asked the shop how easy it was to go from chrome to other finishes and they said that the black chrome is a layer over a powder coated base, so I can just do it in a different finish if I dont like it.

I saw tips on a white bmw that I thought were powder coated gloss black so I did that on mine because it looked sick. But I think it was actual a black chrome or onyx chrome, so I'll be getting tips in some dark chrome soon

Is there a price difference? With such a small painted surface will a color like onyx Chrome look like onyx chrome or will it just look like another shade of black.

Yeah, chrome is more. I hope you can tell it's onyx chrome, that's what I told them to do. I dropped it off eariler today.
