Painting CDC mesh onyx chrome or powder coat?

They weren't running the color so it was a little more expensive. powder coated would've been 75 or 50 if they were running that color that week. Onyx chrome was 150, I dont know how much if they would they been running it though.

They also stated doing plastics this week, it's liquid based process, so you could send an lse grille to be done in onyx chrome them you would have to paint over the surround to be color matched. That would look sick too!

Picking the car up tom. Just a little update. The car was suppose to be done this sunday with the turbo installed, but they wont make it by them. I'm going to take it back in 2-3 weeks so all the shop can catch up and finish the parts they need, then I'll take my car back for it to just be installed in 2-3 days. I'm really bummed I wont get the turbo after all this time but atleast I get my car back.

Sh!t.. Mine will be sc by time you get that turbo on.. :D

Really?

I didn't even know you were getting a turbo installed. That's sweeet!

How much is that costing you?

yeah, been working with the guy that built the gen1 v6 turbo thats always on ebay for sale for like 16k. He's going to do kits for the ls. Can't say pricing, he's going to post that when the kit is done.

I just hope its reasonable and can be mounted by any performance shop.

Id love to have a 350hp ls with the beautiful whine of a turbo.

Or i may just crossover to the dark side of the modular family...

Yea this turbo project is taking forever. But any LS project takes a long time I suppose.

How much hp are you expected to gain?

So you're using a different kit than the one QuikLS has up?

Uhh.. All said and done, looking to be 1,750 to 2,500.. Big range because it depends on which tuner I get (Livewire or XCal) and dependent on the machine shop..

The real huge cost is the Water/Air.. But doing it this way, I don't have to relocate things like Quik did..

Just hope the lag isnt too bad.

To be honest i would rather have a belt driven forced induction system but they do
say that the lag is very minimal with larger engines as opposed to a small 4 cyl.

But a turbo is more efficient and will give you better mpg.

Because you have more air to force to the turbo.. But the disadvantage would be you can't use it to it's full potential.. The V8 red-lines too soon compared to a 4 cylinder..

If i can get a kit for $2500 that will give me at least 50hp ill jump on it.
