Performance Plug Wires? (Nology?)

LMAOOOOooo Thanks Joey!! LOLOLOL All the still "naysayers" will say "oh they got paid for that" and "free wires" etc... If that's the case then do the dyno challenge yourself.
But I know and have known since I started selling Nology's in 1994.

Even if a wire only delivered 2hp it would be worth the price just for the MPG and LIFETIME Warranty alone.

I do know something else, on my 572 cu. in. 68 Camaro went into the 8's after switching over to Nology's and it had a recurved GM HEI distributor with a MS 6a unit, and the ONLY reason the MSD 6a was on there was because it was the only way (at that time) to computer control the timing for the Top Gun NOS Fogger I was using People were flippin' their lids back in 94' when I went 8.80's at a buck 60 and change back in 94!!

Wow. You guys are so stupid that you believe a promotional video produced BY NOLOGY for the spark plug wires to a bunch of paid vendors is evidence that the spark plug wires actually do something?

I guess there really is one born every minute.

Did you notice that nowhere in that video ANYWHERE did they show the actual number or performance gains? Just that the gains were "significant." WTF is "significant" anyway? The dyno chart had a bunch of lines that were so close they were touching the whole time, but they're attributing gains to plug wires?

If that's the case then do the dyno challenge yourself.

But then I'd have to fork out $200 for a gimmick.

But I know and have known since I started selling Nology's in 1994.

Which is excellent incentive for you to support their claims.

Even if a wire only delivered 2hp it would be worth the price just for the MPG and LIFETIME Warranty alone.

Here we go again with the totally unsubstantiated claims of improved mileage from the magical plug wires. I wonder how many sets of Motorcraft wires I can get for the $200 I could pay for Nology's? My mother's 95 Mark VIII has 100K on the original set and they're going strong. Maybe there would be some benefit to this lifetime warranty if everyone kept their cars for 250K+ miles.

Wow, more purely anecdotal evidence that has nothing to do with plug wires for a 300 horsepower lincoln. I bet that the 8 second timeslips have a little more to do with the 572 cu BBC and the chassis than they do the plug wires. Just a thought.

This thread is really sad.

Paul.

LMAO!! Whatever. Their all liars? Nology, Saleen, Callaway..etc.. LOL!!

7 hp 10 lbs of torque.

YES there is a sucker born every minute!!

:D Why are you arguing over it anyways? Everybody has there own opinion. You're not going to change that no matter how long you 2 sit here and argue over these plug wires :D

You've not made one valid point or stated one substantiated fact yet.

I have my original coils and they ALL work fine, don't know and don't care at the moment that there is something better. Lifetime warranty is all I care about really, plus the cool little blue capictors LMFAO. There's always going to be room for improvement as your Momma might say and I will soon enough find out If I like them or not.....And they lived Happily Ever After.......

THE END................

close the subject

I didn't want to comment on the video, but I must say that once he put the Nology hat on, I was just kinda like yaaaaaaaaaaa............

That's not what marketing's about though...

Precisely - which is what is going on here... MARKETING. What's sad is that there are too many people who don't exhibit enough skepticism to see how bogus 98% of all these claims really are.

I'm gonna go put a Tornado and shove it in my intake tract. Then I'm gonna buy a MAF and some plug wires and I'll pick up 17 rwhp while subsequently increasing my fuel mileage.

Yeah... right.

OK this MAY BE a little off topic but I did use the wires and did a tune up and it ran great and suprised there was a difference a higher RPMs with these wires. Heres my "OFF" topic question. Now my MK8 runs really rough after a few days with these when you first start up/drive 15 min. Shakes bad like a bouncing ball in R/P and some in D plus there is a audible whistle while driving when it does this as well. I have never hearD of anything like this just popping up like this or anything similar. ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH SOMETHING LIKE THIS!!?????? and PLEASE nothing about opinions and plugs and wires, just facts and EXP on what this might be....
THANKS

Hello everyone, first post on a great site. 1995 Mk8.
Seeme to me there should be some kind of way of verfying some of these improvements, maybe via tapping into the O2 sensors and tailpipe testing on a chassis dyno. In retrospect, I am amazed my 1968 GTO 400 H.O. ran at all, much less as well it did with 7mm Track Auto garbage wires with points at 11.0 compression. I do know a little about lighting a charge, former Top Fuel crewdog.

I assume you're using new wires, so they shouldn't be arking.
Are you absolutely certain you got the firing order right?

ya I am, I used both the chilton and actual 1995 Lincoln Mark VIII manual to triple check everything before putting it all back together, what gets me is that its basically only the first 15 min or the engine running that its shaking so bad but unless I can figure out it being something else then I go back and check it a 4th and 5th time before getting an OD1/OD2 computer to run codes (any recomendations on good brands and brands to avoid?)

Your 1995 is EEC IV, OBD1, any of the code scanners are cheap and work fine. Did you change the plugs at the same time, if so did you gap them properly?

Plugs are brand new as well and were set at .048 when i checked them all which was a recomended gapping. The plugs themselves are the so called listed stock "iridium/platinum High perfomance" plugs from NAPA Auto Parts and better work dang good at $7+ a piece. But I am about to pull it all apart to double check everything, check the tightness for compression issues maybe and then I am pulling, checking and regapping all the plugs and rechecking all the boots and wires.....again

I don't think you can gap iridium plugs, unless you are using a "pull" method only. If you are using a spreader, then you probably messed them up.

You have to use a special gapper tool to gap iridium plugs. Like was said, if you tried to use the regular coin one you probably messed them up.
