Remote start from keypad?

how "different" is the fob?
It's the same general shape and size as the regular fob, but it has a button on it to start the engine--at least that's how the two that came with my OEM Remote Start kit look. There are three (IIRC) different kits, depending on what options your car has re: power locks and windows, so the fobs for the other kits may look different. If I remember when I get home tonight, I'll take a picture of the fob (the whole kit is sitting in a box in my dining room--it's not exactly plug and play, and I haven't felt like slicing and dicing my wiring harness yet).

I took a crappy cell phone pic, then I found the following image via Google. That's what mine looks like.

I don't know. Never played that game. But apparently, you have, since you seem to know the answers... now.

I, however, am smart enough to know that you'd have to be a moron to try and start your car from your keypad. Either that, or a class A lazy individual. You're already at the car. Open the door, insert key, start, then shuffle (or waddle) yourself back in the house, if you're too cheap to install a proper Remote Start unit.

Furthermore, I seem to know a little more about this keypad thing than... apparently, you do. Only an idiot would ask such a question. No such thing as stupid questions, my ass....

LMFAO, walking to your car, punching in 6 digits and having it start for you. Just knowing you then have to put the key in the ignition after you open the door.

Whoever said he wanted to have it..... He just asked if it could be done and he saw it in another thread. I guess if your curious about something and you don't know the answer you shouldn't ask a question. I guess nobody asks stupid questions if your berating someone over asking a question they are curious about. If ya don't like the question just don't reply unless you can maybe help whoever asked the question.

What was the question again? I just start reading where ever frogman starts typing, It's way funnier that way.

I already have the remote start jackass. It's way lazier to hit the remote. If you knew anything about the LS and the factory remote start, you'd know it's not far fetched to imagine you could use the keypad, since it disables other things already like rolling down your windows from the FOB.

Not that you'd know that.

Exactly. Because a man named frogman will come make fun of you!!!!! And he will try to hurt your feelings, he is a badman.

This is what my remote start FOB looks like btw

Ok, smart guy. I'd like to see you get your car started from the keypad in factory form, since it disables other things, like already rolling your windows down from the fob... wait... it disables other things like rolling down the windows? WTF are you talking about? Do you even know how to write properly?

If you mean, the keyfob allows you to roll down the windows... Yeah. I knew about that. No big news there. What the keypad has to do with disabling the windows rolling down from the keyfob is beyond me, though. Care to explain?

Go ahead.... Do it.... DO IIIIIT!

Wait... you can't, can you? Something about the PATS system not working that way. Damn... So close, yet so far.

Let me put it in a way even your cooked pea sized brain can comprehend... maybe...

AT THIS TIME, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE! to remote start from the keypad in factory form!

Clear enough for your thick headed, LS driving head? I hope so... but I doubt you'll understand.

Dude you are really reaching now lol. Again, I don't expect you to know wtf I'm talking about (you're obviously clueless about the topic of this forum), so I'll break it down for all the morons.

If you have factory remote start, it disables the stock ability to roll down the windows from the FOB.

That's it. It's plain as day the way I typed it the first time, you're just not too bright.

Now we're all clear and there is no more confusion, THANKS :D

you two should get a room, suck each others dicks and make up.

Now I would like to know how to use my factory key fob with my car starter.

I know for a fact it can be done. I would like to know how

I come from Montreal where it is -30 in the morning and I will not go outside to start my car. Flock the environment and flock you if you don't like how I roll

I'm reaching... Because you can't properly structure a sentence, to save you life. I see... Damned college educations, huh?

Really? 5th grade comebacks? You rock... not really.

Now I would like to know how to use my factory key fob with my car starter.

If you have to ask how, then you should go see a professional installer, because obviously you have no clue about aftermarket remote start units... And if you don't know how it's done, then you really don't want to try and install it yourself. Either that, or do some searching. I personally covered how it can be done in another thread.

I know for a fact it can be done. I would like to know how

It involves ground up people from Canadia.

I come from Montreal where it is -30 in the morning and I will not go outside to start my car.

So then... who starts your car in the morning?

Flock the environment and flock you if you don't like how I roll

Rolling around is easier than walking for you, then? Eh. I suppose Canadia has to have their obese people too.

Obese or not obese i wouldn't want to be getting out in -30 degree weather to do anything lol.......

Eh. -30 isn't that bad. Helps if you have clothes on. I'd rather take the cold weather than hot weather. You can always pile on more clothes when you're cold. But you can only take off so many clothes when you're hot, before you go to jail for indecent exposure.

thats actually something i agree with you on frogman. Id rather be cold than hot.....everything else idk....lol

Frogman,

You are the reason Americans get a bad rap around the world.

Thank you for your insightful advice.
Silly me to think "a forum" was to help each other out. I guess we will all just insult each other and them make our way to the dealer when we have questions.

God bless the queen

I am the reason Americans get a bad rap around the world? Are you severely brain damaged? Those bad rap americans, who's cars you drive, products you use, and medical care you come for to America?

Thank you for your insightful advice.

Why, you're welcome.

Silly me to think "a forum" was to help each other out. I guess we will all just insult each other and them make our way to the dealer when we have questions.

Obviously, you don't understand the difference between "help", spoonfeed", and "opinions". You see, in this non-socialist (for the time being) country, we enjoy this thing called freedom of speech. IF you don't agree with it, you'll just have to get over it.

God bless the queen

Screw your old, decrepit, one foot in the grave queen. You people only have one queen. We have thousands of them in San Francisco.
