then give me 13000 and ill get you a comprable mod motor.

I doubt it. Especially not naturally aspirated, CAFE compliant, emissions legal, and perfect driveability.

M-6007-T50EA*
The 5.0L DOHC 4-valve “Cammer” engine is an upgraded variant of the 4.6L DOHC 4-valve Mustang Cobra engine, with numerous changes for improved power and durability. This engine is completely electronically managed. As part of the “Cammer” crate engine program, a stand-alone harness and engine management computer will be available separately. This will allow the engine to be used for many applications.

With proper headers (not included) and low restriction air intake and vehicle exhaust systems, the engine will exceed 400 Bhp and have a very broad torque curve, peaking over 365 ft./lbs.

Suggested Retail $14,995.00
Sold In Units Of Each (1)

Sweet, it makes 100 less horsepower, 100 less torque, weighs more, gets worse mileage, and costs two grand more. Darn those archaic inefficient pushrod motors. :)

Paul.

no doubt that 5.0 cammer crate is a piece for the $, but just because ford is f;n ppl in the anus for that doesnt speak for all of the mod motors.

Ford has been screwing people since the day they started building OHC motors. While other manufacturers continue to build stronger, more powerful, more fuel efficient pushrod motors, Ford continues to hang on to this miserable platform. I'll never understand why.

looks like GM is making a good ol profit with them pushrod motors...oh wait:p

It was an attempt by FOMOCO to have an engine platform, that would share as many components as possible to save money, cutting production costs, limiting supply and wharehousing factors.

Likening struggles with outrageous healthcare costs to pushrods is asinine and non-sequiter.

Paul.

I don't know about the rest of you, I had to look up the word. I thought I would share it in case I am not alone.

Non sequitur

Non sequitur may refer to:

Non sequitur (logic), a logical fallacy
Non sequitur (absurdism), a comment which is humorously absurd or has no relation to the comment it follows
Non Sequitur (comic strip), the comic strip
Non Sequitur (ensemble), the musical ensemble at The Walden School

I agree with the above statement from Dr. Paul.

My lord! I had to keep reading because if I didn't know you guys where in fact male, I would have guessed you were all in a college sorority.

The bottom line is that I, and most people here, like the Mark VIII for everything; motor, looks, interior, comfort, reliablity. The fact of the matter is that this is the Mark VIII section of this website, and no matter how good the 5.7 is from GM, its not going in one of these cars, and MrWilson was not asking for a fight when he was looking for peoples oppinions.

This thread has become asinine and non-sequitur.

I was simply poking a little fun. People take cars too seriously and get offended.

The fact that you know that makes me wonder about your intentions in the first place.

A college Sorority? Humph. Ok, thats an interesting way to interject in a conversation. These opinions are just that, not fights, Mr Wilson can see that and is receptive to what is being posted. The gist of the post was to go big and the 7 liter small block chevy did come into play.
Those who have responded have built engines and strokers. The second issue of any Hobbyist buildup is cost. Push rods engines at this time, do produce the most power for the money. Mr. Wilson wants to buildup a MOD motor because he can. Kudos for the effort.
My take on the bench raceing here is, a few fellas willing to take the time and energy to listen and offer their own experiences.
I have the opinion that Mr. Wilson understands this and does appreciate the input.

I suppose perception is a relative thing. The way the article was reading really seemed like bickering, but I will certainly confess that thats a good point you make so long as all participants in the discussion feel the same way.

This may help with the percieved issue of technical questions vs. bench raceing;
