Sup echo chamber -- Waiting for Gov't Checks Threaed

No - I answered foss - government programs have helped private industry and individuals by furthering technology. You probably don't know it but I bet you use a form of Win Vn for internet access at work, a NASA devopment. Dell is developing computers that use semiconductor cubing - created by NASA for the space program, which will be faster, and use less energy. Microcomputers were a NASA invention.
Unresponsive.

You brought the numbers up - you need to back them up foss... not I.

I already did. You're too lazy to look them up and you can't remember where they were from. It's not my job to cite you a link just because you're getting senile.

And your point is...
Was answering your statement. Keep dodging.

So, you didn't understand how the federal government handles money - nothing you have stated goes against how I corrected you foss - there is a trust fund - it is how SS and medicare get funded. Yes, the government has borrowed against it but that doesn't mean that the trust funds weren't set up. Those funds are still funding those programs - no money from the general fund has yet gone to pay one penny of SS or Medicare.

Once again - the Federal budget is made of 2 parts - the 'discretionary' (general fund) spending and the 'entitlement' spending.

Jealous of your wife - I can only say that the woman must be a saint.
Desperate, vindictive words from a woman scorned - typical.

So, foxie, which budget are you referring to - the 2009 or 2010 budget?

Answered your question...

Nope foss - you quoted numbers it is your responsibility to back those numbers. Otherwise - heck - maybe you can't, I think maybe your memory is the one that is going... You already changed them from 30 trillion to 20 trillion, and you have stated that I agreed with that number - so you must remember where that is... Just post the thread foss.

So, foxie, which budget are you referring to - the 2009 or 2010 budget?

Any budget foss - you were talking about SS and the budget - I pointed out that SS isn't part of the discretionary budget that congress comes up with because it is is an entitlement and is treated differently.

So Johnny, you are no literally making up things for people to say? Unquestionably lying about them and putting words in their mouth?

Where did I ever say this:
I can't substantiate my statment w/ evidence of facts, so I'll hide behind my cloak of not wanting to debate w/ people who challenge my false pretenses while I claim its a waste of my time to engage in honest debate.
There is no justification for that.

Do you want to quote all the dozens of times you have responded to me as such?

I mean, of course you are going to say it is justified, but you know damn well you are just hiding from any real debate with anyone who has dissimilar views, especially when they call you on your BS.

Repost. Thanks for playing "Did you or did you not read the thread before you posted."

I did. I just thought it was such a stupid question that should have been so obvious that you might want it repeated a few times so you remember it in the future. Besides, I thought this was supposed to be an echo chamber.

By the way, it is because Tax Cuts are popular and win votes, same reason every politician runs on those promises.

^^^Obvious troll is obvious. Here to harass and insult, not to discuss things in good faith.

Congrats, 'FIND,' you've found your niche.

So, foxie, you aren't aware that we don't even have a federal budget yet? How interesting.

Care to point out what you have contributed to this discussion.....

actually, I will make it much easier on you.

Care to point out what you have contributed to any discussion ever?

still to hard?

Good advice, I'll remember that next time foss posts something stupid.
You're not the first troll that's gotten a hard-on for me. You think I'm bothered by your stalking? Dude, I've shat better men than you.

It's not "to" hard, but considering you're not qualified to judge what a contribution is, I'm not interested in entertaining you. You're gonna have to play with yourself.

What men you have invited into your ass is none of my business, it is your own personal business, and I am not going to judge you for that. I only ask that you show me the respect to not discuss your sex life on a political forum.

Yeah yeah, great job pointing out the typo. Also great job in being dismissive and running away as usual when you are confronted with a burden of proof you cannot meet.

Predictable. Big words from a pussy hiding behind his computer screen. If that's the conclusion you've drawn - that I'm "running away" from your stupid, vile, insulting, intellectually vapid posts because I've somehow lost the debate - then you really are the dumbest, most immature troll that's ever set foot in this forum.

And that moves Barry up the list.

Correlation = causation is such an amateurish, linear way of thinking. I'm surprised you can even tie your shoes.

Just because your 4-hour shift at Mickey D's is over doesn't mean the rest of us don't have full time jobs to deal with. The rest of us don't have the luxury of living in mom's basement. You better hurry up, though - you don't want to miss your next session on COD 5. Then you can grab some lunch and go spit on some veterans or persecute some Christians or something.

hmmm, well, I am on a lunch break right now, but hey, if you want to just make a post full of personal attacks and insults that have no justification, fine. You are a model citizen of course. As I said in the other thread, let me know when your temper tantrum is over.

but just for the record, I don't play video games, I own my own house, I work at the business school at the University of South Dakota, and calling someone a pussy over the internet.... not real mature. Hey though, you spend a hell of a lot more time on here than I do, so I guess you would know what it is like to be too busy to be on here all the time. I mean, with all this nearly infinite time you spend writing these sophomoric insults, I would have thought you would have had a little bit of time to demonstrate one place you have actually contributed to a discussion instead of just flaming the opposition.

Time for me to walk back over to work though.

Ah - an academic, huh? No wonder you're such a lefty - this explains EVERYTHING! No wonder you have such condescension toward conservatives, no wonder you love Obama so much - and no wonder you know nothing about business. Make sure your Birkenstocks are strapped on tightly as you walk back - you wouldn't want to trip and catch your mullet on something.

Come back when you actually work in the private sector instead of hiding behind the skirts of academia.

To expand on my history since you so love to make assumptions, I am working in the business school right now while I am going back to school to expand my education. I enlisted in the navy many years ago, after deciding I didn't much care for college life. After the Navy I worked for several years as a diesel mechanic. Along the way I attended some school, did a bunch of random things, met my ex-wife, and moved to her home state of North Dakota, where I bought my first house. While there, there wasn't a lot of work, and I got a good offer from a farmer, so I began working as a light duty mechanic and equipment operator for him. While doing that, I moved to a town closer to the farm and bought a new house. After a while I tired of 16 hour days 7 days a week and moved to South Dakota where I had some family so my kids could be closer to them. I drove truck for a while while looking for work and weathering the bad economy, then I enrolled back into school. I am going to complete the work on my Math and physics degrees that I started, as well as picking up one in computer sciences. I have completed a minor in Criminal Law as well. Of course, I left plenty of holes in it, so you can fill that in with whatever you can imagine, as I am sure you will.

But, on a side note, perhaps this is why Liberals consider Conservatives unintelligent. Aside from the gross assumptions and name calling, the moment I suggest any rational or academic thought, you go screaming bloody murder. Applying intelligence and critical thought to problems is apparently a shortcoming of yours, so I can see how you would love to put down anyone who can. Also, for the last time, I don't like Obama, and where do you get the idea that I am a lefty? How many Liberal policies do I support? Gay rights and health care reform (though not the kind we have now). You are just trying your hardest to marginalize me aren't you?

Well, that was a fun break away from the database.

Downright hostility toward opposing viewpoints (and overly defensive rationalization of that hostility) is not critical thought.

There is a difference between healthy skepticism and irrational hostility. A healthy skepticism involves a desire to first understand the opposing viewpoint and give it consideration before application of any critical thought processes. Irrational hostility involves a refusal to understand (let alone consider) opposing viewpoints without which any critical thought is impossible.

Your "rational/academic thought" is much more in line with irrational hostility then with a healthy skepticism..

I love how you assume I don't ever consider opposing viewpoints or facts just so you can dismiss everything I say and continue to make these types of accusations. Of course, anyone on this forum who doesn't side with you, you just accuse of being hostile to opposing views, dismissive or intellectually bankrupt in some fashion. This is obviously your way of trying to get out of debating things honestly, or justifying the fallacious or erroneous statements you make, and thankfully there are plenty of people on this forum who can see that.

Why don't you demonstrate some examples of critical thought by yourself? I would love to see a link to a post where you have carefully considered the merits of another point of view instead of just dismissing it and saying that it is wrong because you think such and such.

That's what you said.
I'll accept your word when you say that's not what you meant to say, but that is certainly what you said. Do not make your failure to communicate my fault.

Its YOUR failure to comprehend. Didn't notice the little comma in my sentence?

JohnnyB said:
I'm only talking to a brick wall thats been brainwashed by Beck/Hannity/Limbaugh, who hate this country so much they'd work to undermine EVERYTHING GOOD Obama / Dems are trying to do so that it appears they are "damaging this country" so that the GOBP will win back power.

Rule #7 for comma useage:

Use commas to set off phrases that express contrast.

Some say the world will end in ice, not fire.
It was her money, not her charm or personality, that first attracted him.
The puppies were cute, but very messy.

Support you claim, and disprove the fact that BP and it's employees donated heavily to the Obama campaign and that they were positioning themselves to benefit greatly from Cap&Trade.

Support:

Republicans have been main beneficiaries of BP's political contributions since 1990 (But Dems are catching up)

For those wondering which American politicians have received contributions from British Petroleum, the embattled oil giant at the center of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, the answer is found in data compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics.

Briefly, for most of the past two decades, roughly 70 percent of BP's contributions went to Republicans, but beginning in the 2004 election cycle, the oil industry titan has begun slowly but steadily increasing its contributions to Democrats, to the point that whereas in 2002, for example, GOPers got 70 percent and Dems 30 percent, in 2004, GOPers received 60 percent and Dems 40 percent.

Thus far in the 2010 cycle, GOP candidates have received 56 percent of BP contributions, compared to 43 percent to Democrats, according to CRP.

CRP's OpenSecrets.org web site classifies BP as one of its "Heavy Hitters" and you can view the BP Heavy Hitter profile in its entirety here.

So every election cycle in the last 20 years, the GOP has benefited from BP more than Dems.

So, you chastise Cal for supposedly "taking your words out of context", but when you make up what someone else says, whole cloth; when you lie and misrepresent them, that is acceptable?

The term double standard, coined in 1912, refers to any set of principles containing different provisions for one group of people than for another, typically without a good reason for having said difference

Care to justify that double standard?

BIG DIFFERENCE. I simply paraphrased your own SIG, retaining the original essence. Cal twisted the meaning of my statement to imply something that I did NOT say or meant. NOT a double standard. But then again, that little tidbit didn't have to fly very high to get over your head.

Where the h3ll do you reach that conclusion?

You claim doesn't make any sense...unless you don't understand what critical thought is, which is very likely.

This coming from an immature child who mis-quotes others in his sig. :bowrofl:
Show me how I misquoted you, jerkweed. I didn't think the smilie was necessary. Is that what you've got your leopard skin thong in a bunch about?
