What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

This evening I basked in the newly beaming light of the ABS and TRACK OFF lights of my 95....yesterday spent 3 hours removing the dryer and air compressor from my 96 and sent it off to Eddie... my back is still sore from being in the wheel well for 3 hours....

Magnetico I bought my 98 in the spring with about 145k on it...yes I drive a LOT


Today I got frustrated doing some work on a members grill, so I took a break from that and widdled on another center cap for my 18s

Better keep on eye on it, so it doesn't "fall down a flight of stairs" or "run into a door knob" while you're at lunch...
 
Killed this (100 pound?) pig with it :-( car is ruined again!!! Left LSC light destroyed, left fender, bumper split, ect ect... -sigh-

drove her up to the hospital to go see my sister and my new baby nephew!!!!


also was rainin pretty nice today so the traction control was off all day!! haha lol. it was fun!!!

So anyway, yeah... That's my luck

It's probably going to be easier for me to find Gen2 front end stuff...especially that headlight.
I'm going to hit some JYs today in search...if I can't find a 96 LSC left housing it's going back to it's original front
It also took out the HID bulb, but that's not terribly expensive,
And I can use a halogen for now

The right headlight IS considered "for sale", PM me an offer

Considering I just hit my first Deer (rather large one at that) with my 98 and hit 2 Deer and a Cobalt (punting it over the curb into a RR bridge) I only broke the grille :confused: on the 96' oh and I also crunched the chrome piece over the grille but didn't loose any headlights on either. Guess I got real lucky all those times cause I was starting to consider the VIII an indestructible tank :shifty:
 
Stayed late tonight at work. Drove home on the dark highway with my embarrassingly dim HID's compared to newer cars with brighter halogens driving by me.
 
Visited a different salvage yard today...found it only had 1 Mark VIII, but much to my excitement it was a 96LSC with an entire front light display, even has OEM HID bulbs (who wants those!!!)

I took both headlights and both side marker lights and the header panel for $50

Are you going to uses all that stuff on your car or go back to a gen2 nose?

I set out yesterday with the thought of finding a Gen2 and snatching all of it's front clip that I needed (both lights,header panel, bumper, left fender)... Instead I stumbled upon that 96

It will probably remain a Gen1 nose until I get my tax check, at that time I would like Blue_t to make me a copy of his Gen2 hood, a cobra bumber (because it easier?) and everything else...and then sell the LSC lights.
I have to buy HER a car first, pay back a loan, get a decent air compressor and a Mig/plasma cutter/media blaster/paint gun
 
My LSC has been sitting so I hooked a 1 amp solar panel to the battery so it won't go flat.
 
Put in a new fuel pressure regulator. gas mileage jumped from 11 mpg to 17 mpg in the city after 25 minutes of driving.

still starts hard. gonna try unplugging CPS wire and then I'll try cleaning the IAC. sausage fingers gonna make this a PITA me thinks. i got a feeling its gonna be a needing a fuel pump too. :mad:
 
Went to the JY during lunch and got another left fender and Gen1 LSC bumper... Putting back together now (temporary) gotta come apart later for paint

IMRC Rebuild

I received my Sapperfire rebuilt IMRC yesterday. It works like a charm!!!
