What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Yay got the wipers done

Is the cat's name, "the wipers"???

Ordered up a power bleeder. Did my brakes but the fluid is nasty and the locals want $100+ to flush the system. Cost about $100 with shipping and I'll have the damn thing for the future.

So I added about half a bottle of Lucas oil stuff to the really low rear differential yesterday. Couldn't squeeze more out at the time, and it was starting to rain.

How much rear end fluid does a 1st gen need? 2 quarts?

I know the feeling. I just filled mine up with premium yesterday for $3.90/gal. Took $21 bucks for about 5 effin' gallons  It's sad, but I can remember when $15 bucks would fill up the 20+ gallon tank in my '69 Cougar...:( I'm trying to get into the habbit of filling up when it gets to 3/4 tank so it won't cost so much. I've also noticed that the mpg's are better if you don't let it get lower than 1/2 tank before filling up. It makes no sense, but last time I experimented with this theory, the calculator showed about 24mpg when I filled up at just over 3/4 tank. But when I let it go to 1/8 tank and filled up, I got 20mpg. It's the craziest thing...

Good thing they don't run on milk huh

Hit a gigantic pothole tonight and I think I broke an upper rear shock mount. :(

Is there something wrong with NC, or is it just your hood?
Your either having a stroke of bad luck or there's something wrong with that side of the states!

I thought all of your bad luck was left in 2012?

I wish...

Must just be me :D All I know is that when I push down on the rear end I can hear a click/scrape noise coming from inside the trunk on the passenger side. I'll just have to check it out this weekend. Maybe it's something simple...If it's not one thing it's ten others...

Haven't done anything. But I did finally bust open and fix my bigger/better gps unit that's been ignored for the last year. I now have to decide where to put it. Might make another custom mount that attaches to the hvac screws like my old one(3.5"). I DON'T want to affix it to the windshield or apply that sticky saucer to the dash..

Finally got a few more minutes to spend on mine today, so I finished the wire harness for the Cruise control module and loomed it up, installed a splash shield that I found at the JY. one day I'll find a passenger side one

SBC, should try what I did for my radar detector.. I glued a second button for a rear view mirror and took a bad mirror apart and used the arm, and made a little bracket

Is your ball joint boot f'ed?

Yup, cheap control arms. Will be replaced next week with TRWs and poly boots. The joints are still OK, but the boots are dry rotted after 1 year -in storage. They were installed right before the motor let go and has been parked, or on a lift since. The car spends the night at full lift so the cat doesn't sleep on it.

I'm trying to keep it off the winshield. I used to have it (or the smaller one) on the bottom left of the windshield but moved it cause I don't like to "show off" whats in the car. Which is also why the radar is tucked up top (Def not ideal).

The first pic is how the old 3.5 looked on the mount I made(Stereo kit has been changed ;) ). I left it hardwired exiting the same position as before. All i'd have to do is make a bigger mount to properly secure the 4.3. But then I run into leg issues with passengers.

Or I just scrap the whole idea of permanently affixing it to something on the car and just keep it and it's mount in the glovebox. Then I'd just have to reroute the power feed to wherever I'd want to mount it when I actually use it.
