What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

brown one:washed it, and admired it....
aired up the tires and shocks on the white one....can't wait to get it road worthy
 
Got my tax refund today. Not as much as I'd hoped, but at least I'll be able to get some new tires. Looking at a set of Federal P225/60R16's for $75 each. I'd love to go back with 245/50's because they look so good but they're too expensive and they mess the speedo up too bad. The 225/60's are too damn tall IMO, but that's stock and they will make it ride better and hopefully last a little longer than the lower profile tires.
 
Drove it... Hate driving in the snow with it. Can't wait to be able to afford a new truck....

Gettin close to buying a truck for a daily beater..been looking at a 95 Chevy 2500 w/ a plow..73k original miles..gets me excited to get my car off the streets in the winter
 
Ordered my tires yesterday. I should have them by the weekend. Federal P225/60HR16. Didn't want to go with the 225/60 size but they were only $75 each compared with $110 each for the 245/50 size so I couldn't pass it up.

I have been rolling that size since owning the black 94. When I bought the 95, Jamie had some 245/50 on it I believe but I got them off and put the BF Goodrich 80,000 mile 225/60/16's on it and they still look new as of now. 2 of them came off the black car that blew up and the other two I put on the 93 that my dad t-boned. Both cars had matching tires but I didn't like the 245/50's on there. The ride to me feels better with the 225/60's but that's just me.

I've been running 245/50's on everything I've had with 16" wheels since my first '88 T-Bird Trubo Coupe. That's all I've run on both my Marks. I think the 245/50 looks better because it fills out the fender well while the 225/60 looks "tucked in" under the fenders. But the 225/60's do ride better. I'm running 225's on the car now but they're used. And they do ride smoother than the 245's. But the 245's looked better and handled better. But oh well. I'm going back stock. And you never know I may like it. But even if I don't I have no choice now :D
 
ran 245 50 in the front and 235 60 in the rear back in the day. had a nice rake to it.
always liked having that taller tire in the back.
 
Got a ticket after telling the cop he can write ten before ill ugly up my bumper by mounting a front plate. He just didn't appreciate my love affair with Natalya. In hindsight, I probably should have just shut the hell up
 
Only reason I put that vanity plate on the front of mine was because when the car belonged to my future ex, she wanted one on the front that had the wicked witch of the west on it. It said "My Other Car Is A Broom" or some such. So when she got the Cobra and I inherited the Mark, it had two big holes in the bumper where I had to put that cheap-a$$ wal-mart bracket on for her. So I finally located a good OEM front bracket on here and did it right.

I got a powerstroke but I was meeting with a lincoln guy for lunch so i took the mark since I dont care about it anymore
 
continued on my brake upgrade project...removed the piston(s) from the front calps for painting- cannot get all 4 pistons out; on the LH side the piston in front of the banjo bolt came out easy (w/ 125 psi)...the other piston does not want to; on the RH side the piston in front of the banjo will not come out but the other piston did...wth? ...any tips?
 
Remove the square cut seal from the removed pistons bore, place piston back inside. Use C clamp to hold it from falling out, or wedge a small piece of 2x4 in there to hold it alone in the bore and blow the other piston out with an air blower
 
I'll try that; I already tried stuffing a shop rag in there and holding it tight, then covered the bore w/ a small piece of sheet metal so it was air tight...no luck..dust boots off....PITA

I've had 2 of these calipers rebuilt from start to finished in less than 30 seconds
