What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Congrats Thaywood, nice to see you back in a Mark VIII. Now you should put the chrome wheels off the cougar back on the Mark VIII. Air ride FTW!!!

Yeppers. That's the next thing on the list. Along with the dual exhaust and the air ride. The car has a slightly leaky bag in the back and the compressor is weak. So I'm switching the whole shebang from the '97 into the '95 and rolling with it.

Old grille..new grille, bada bing, bada boom.. (if only it was that easy)

Okay, with the headlights on a Gen1, how are they mounted? The problem I'm having is that they are not solid, they are hanging down and literally "resting" on the bumper. There should be a gap between the bottom of the headlight and the bumper but on mine, the headlights are in contact with the bumper and I can lift them up about half an inch but they fall right back down. Any suggestions?

there are mounting studs on the back that go through the header panel.
where the stick out the other side, there is a clip.

these clips are easy to lose and sometimes don't get put back on and get lost.

i'm getting pics of where they go.

That bolt isn't there on my headlights  That must be the bottom adjuster. That's apparently why they're hanging like that. Thanks!!! Now...what do I do about it?

Take the headlight housing out and see if the adjustment screw is missing or broken..I know on my lsc headlights all of that mounting hardware is bolted onto the back of the housing..I can't remember what the base housings look like on the back..I think its slightly different, the adjustment screw bracket might be molded into the plastic so if its broken you either need a new headlight housing or have to reglue it somehow.

That's what I was afraid of. Well, I guess that'll be another project for the weekend. I can probably rig something up. :)

They used to be properly mounted when I installed the HIDs about 2 years ago. I guess the "mechanics" at Pep Boys couldn't figure out how to remove them when the reinstalled the halogens. Gman has a nice housing for sale.

I kinda figured something like that. No biggie. It's possible I may be able to do something aobut the headlights. I'm like McGuyver with stuff like that :D I'll have all day next Saturday to mess with it. :)

the clips are available through NAPA... I think I have extra adjusting screws if you need em...although those may be an integral part of the housing? idk

after work, removed the rotors from The Brown One, for re-use on The White One, after being turned

Drove the '95 to work this morning. She runs better with the new plugs but I still need wires and possibly a TPS and IAC. Can't wait to get the '97 LSC's true dual exhaust with cherry bombs installed :D Need to change the trans fluid and filter too. She's got a shudder going from 3rd to OD. I'm probably going to pour a little Dr. Tranny or Lucas transmission treatment in there for now. Need to do the 1-2 accumulator upgrade ASAP. Also changed my sig pic :)

Ended up selling my 3 10" jbl.

So i've gone through 2 18" JL 18w6's, 2 Powerbass 15's and 3 10" Jbl's in the last year. And every time I buy something new I always sell it and go back to my beat to sht Type r's. Why do I do this to myself?

Glad I'm not into sound systems..that sounds like some expensive sh*t ^^

I don't buy car audio anymore unless I come across a smokin' deal. In my late teens early twenties is when I dropped some major coin. I find myself more content nowadays and don't feel the need to upgrade 3-4 times a year. Subs are really the only thing I change around, and i'm always left disappointed.

Beleive it or not, I bought the 18w6's for a hundred a piece brand new. :)

Been getting compliments like crazy on my new Mark. Everybody at work and a couple of folks at the store I stopped at on the way to work said what a nice looking car it is. And when I told them what I paid and how many miles were on it they couldn't believe it.:L

Changed my oil, only to find the fl-820 filter does not fit. So I have to reuse old filter for now. Also checked other fluids and siliconed a leak in my intake tube from the p.o. (n2o port I'm guessing) was black taped and underneath

Magnatude was burglarized last night, on our driveway, while we were asleep.

Believe it or not, there were no damage. This area has, for many years, been one of the safest neighborhood one would feel safe leaving doors unlocked.

I think it may have been a juvenile with no prior because nothing was taken except my LED Maglight penlight from the glove compartment. A police report was filed anyway..... just in case.

I just had a thought. I want to put the true dual exhaust from the '97 under the '95 this weekend. But I just realized the '97 has OBD-II and the '95 has OBD-I so there will be two extra O2 sensors on the '97. What I need to know is are the exhaust manifolds and cats the same for all Mark VIII models and will my '97 exhaust bolt directly up to the '95? I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have any problems. I just want to be sure. Thanks!!

Been doing a lot but this is what i got done today. Just the base coat. Will be doing clear in couple of days. Working on a long long project with my 93.

Thay it'll work fine. Just cap off the back 2 o2 ports. Are the sensors good? If so you might can sell em. Or.just use them to plug the holes

Thanks. I'll probably just use them to plug the holes for the time being. I doubt they're any good. They've got 216k miles on them :D
