What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

i took the 97 out for an illegal blast through the neighborhood and then pulled it in the shop and repainted the driverside door trim, you know the 2 inch wide one that runs up and down at the backside of the door glass. looked like someone has scuffed it with scotchbrite? i painted it and its a dead nuts match to the pass side. i worked on 1 st gen headlights all weekend, and put a bumper cover on a customers 98, his rear bumper was damaged and i had a real nice one for him, didnt even have to paint it, he drove all the way up from ft. lauderdale. he said he is gonna join here, real nice guy with a real nice 98 mark!

the brotherhood grows ;)

I didn't do anything 2day but yesterday got the front windshield replaced after the repair failed :(

What did you use? My drivers side one looks like crap. It was dented and I think the previous owner just tapped it off and spray painted it. Its rough like 1500 gritt sand paper and looks like crap. I want to sand it down and make it match again too.

As for what I did to my Mark today, I replaced the ball joints, controll arms, strut rod bushings, sway bar links and the outer tie rods. Then I installed my new air box that lsc8 (thanks again mang) sent me cause my stock box was craked to crap and only had a single screw to hold the cover on. Much better now. :)

Nothing exciting tonight, changed the wiper blades:D

Since I have my ray switch installed now, I was setting my sensors to a better ride height. I had them pretty low but now I can slam it with the flic of a switch I dont need to ride around so low.
I need to fine tune it tomorrow and I'll post some pics.

ordered up a bunch of stuff tonight, including (8)accel coils, underdrive pulley's, radiator(which is starting to leak), water pump(PM), alternator, rear load brace(scp) and gonna start looking into exhaust parts.

I picked up my newest part. :D

Let us know every thing you think of it. I am very interested. I glued my emlem to the front bumper and put a strip of masking tape to hold it on.
It looks like it has a band-aid.

I bought wires, new battery, new alternator because the mother :q:q:q:qer quit on me today out on a main road. :q:q:q:q that pissed me off. Guess what though? An Auto Zone employee came to me with a brand new battery that I paid for over the phone with a debit card on his lunch break and he put it in for me. $113.00 with a 3 year free replacement and 8 year pro rated. 850/1000.

Then I was able to go and get a new alternator and a new pigtail JAMIE. That pigtail looked like it had been ran over in the HWY by 200 cars. Now the battery light doesn't stay on all the time anymore but the alternator is what was bad.

I gave the AZ guy a $20 just for doing that because I was about to call a flatbed to come get it.

got the rims mostly done for the lincoln...

i dunno if you can really tell but the outside lip is polished kinda.. its not quite a mirrored finish but i like the way they look and thats all that matters lol

i went and got a cargo net out of the salvage yard, one for Bill too, and the -complete- plastic wire cover for the trunk hinge....tomorrow will yeild new trunk carpet with sides and tire cover plate..im taking it out of a Gen2, the trunks are the same right? only difference i saw was the trap door has a lock and the Gen1s had velcro
also taking the chrome inner door handles in place of the blue ones

Not Autozone parts!!!!!! LOL

Well, when you're stuck in a place like I was stuck in, it's either pay the price for a flatbed to come get you or call someone that will help. The Duralast battery is made by the same people that make Motorcraft and many many other known name batteries.

As for the alternator, yeah, maybe I F'd up and bought the Duralast but I'm just glad I don't have a battery light on anymore. Now I feel safe and if I go through this alternator as fast as I did with the O'Reilly's Ultima reman alternator, I'll just take it back and order the Motorcraft and pay the difference.

I don't expect alternator problems until I get the system put in the car. I still need one more piece of wire before I can start that. Need outdoor warmth too.
