Looks like you actually USE your truck, frog. nice.

50/50 split works better than you think. drive it. my FWD can't fare as well as the lincs. remember, it's not a mustang...

I find it better to leave the tc off all the time.. I can drift the corners.. The tc won't let you get started from a dead stop.. I used general altimax hp and full throttle! :p

Anyway onto my point, what does everyone do in the snow?
Write my ex's name...

As for the LS, I usually park it and drive something else when it snows. If you're going to put weight in the trunk, I'd recommend putting it ahead of the rear axle and finding a way to keep it there. My LS doesn't like extra weight way out back; it doesn't exactly get squirrelly, but it's not as settled as usual.

Just throw in a sub and box with beefy sub and amp....plenty weight there.

Yeah makes no sense putting dead weight in a vehicle that cant be used.

Living in a place named Tampico, how do you get snow??!
Anyway, depends on whether you get more snow or ice.

I like blizzaks in snow and some ice but studded tires work really well in ice. The blizzaks I had didn't seem to work as well on ice for me. OF course carry chains for when things get really nasty. I like the cable chains for normal use since they are easy to install and work on tight clearance wheel wells. Real chains are hard to beat in really nasty stuff but they are rough, slow and make a mess when they break.

You can buy good new steel rims if you can find the local jobber who sells to tire shops. Way back I bought some rims for a Taurus for $25 each, when the tire shop said they couldn't find any and if they did they would be about $50 each.

Having steel rims helps as far as wear and tear plus you have more options with more "Normal" sized tires, the LS factory rims are not "normal". You can swap tires either at home or some shops do it for free if you are a regular.

Good Luck,

Jim Henderson

i wonder which is better for snow 20'' rims heavy or factory 16'' with snow tire?

I can tell you what I DON'T do... I don't wash my car:
