I was wondering what everyone's top speed has been in their LS and the conditions in which they did it. Last saturday coming home around 1am on the highway a sports car, the Infiniti version of the 300z?, was haulin ass. The highway was a three lane road, about 4-5 cars on the entire road, i was in the far left lane, the other guy was in the middle lane. About a half mile ahead was a car going kinda slow in the middle lane so the Infiniti started to accelerate so i thought this could be fun. We both gunned it and i got a better jump because he wasnt going to beat me so he had to move over to the right lane to pass the guy in the middle. The LS slightly pulled on him all the way up to 125 mph in which i backed down and he passed me at about 120 mph. The look on the guys face was priceless, like i cant believe a 4 door just ran me. I didnt really care who won or whatever but i have got to say that the LS is the smoooothest car i have ever driven in excess of 100 mph before. At 125 mph it felt like it could have had more left and the ride was as if i was going 65 mph, and i had the sunroof open. In retrospect it was dumb, potentially dangerous, highly illegal and its not something i do on a regular basis. I think i have been over 90 mph about 3-4 times in the new LS. Its nice to see how your car will handle in certain situations and i was extremely pleased by the LS.

I have done 135mph in mine many times but not recently. On the way going to Las Vegas from Los Angeles. The freeway there is almost empty on some days. The car starts feeling kind of funny after 130. Overall feels very stable.

134 MPH. Right up against the limiter in our '06.

A Friday morning last June, north bound on Interstate 5 in the Central Valley, traveling to San Francisco to meet up with some fellow LS owners we know, no traffic, open road for 3 miles, 10 MPH crosswind from the west, no issues, no complaints, no CHP.

According to my Wife in the right seat, it was real interesting watching the NAV work at that speed. In 1/16 scale view, everything on the screen moves pretty quick.

I didn't notice, since all my attention was focused ahead.

Texas 'Top Gun' Shotout
147mph 2001
153mph 2002 -> fastest sedan

130 comin back from morrilton to conway on I40. slightly downhill. felt kinda boaty after 110. guess i shouldve gotten a sport.

142, with three of my buddies in the car. Don't worry, it was a wide open road and everyone was belted up. Kinda cool, you start off in the woods then shoot out into a wide open field, kinda felt like a bullet.

...and should have inflated your tires properly. All tires need to be over-inflated beyond around 100 or 110 mph to prevent distortion due to rotational forces. That will improve handling and help prevent the tires from over-heating and exploding. Not something you want to happen at 100+ mph. If you have the OEM Michelin Pilot MXM4's like many of us, then you can refer to this page for specifics.

I had my v6 up to 125ish on the freeway late one evening when traffic was very light. A couple of times I have made a 200 mile drive running 90-110 and one of those times I was ticketed for 94 in a 70. Not the best decision to travel that fast for long distances but it is a great handling car.... does 'float' a little around 110 though.
:L but I have sure gotten some trouble since I got it..... 2 accidents, 5 tickets (on 3 stops), and 3 trips to the dealer for warranty repairs. And all within 18 months.

such is life,

230......kmh muhaha. This was when i took a little drive to canada so you gotta put it in their native unit, i believe that converts to slightly over 140, this is in my 02 V8

153.5 In A 100 And The Ticket To Prove It!

Is that km/h or mi/h? Either way where were you? I think it is odd someone siting you for 153.5 mph (or km/h). I dont believe most radar units are accurate to within 0.5 mph (let alone 0.5 kmh). But hey I believe you....

I Was Just 2minutes Away From Detroit Border (windor) And Sorry Its Km

137 mph at 4 am on a cool night in Memphis. Those of you from the area know about "Nonconnah International Speedway"/HWY 385/Bill Morris Parkway. The car ran steady and smooth with very little wandering. Wouldn't do it again, but it was fun to try once.

I got a ticket once, clocked at 77....but I'm pretty sure I've made it up between 80 and 90 though. Rode like a dream all the way too.

What I would like to know is how fast a 03-06 will go with the limiter disabled. To bad you would have spend $400 on a SCT2 just find out. It should be at least 10 mph than the 00-02.

Oh yeah and 120 mph for me

I do not think so. The cars still have lots of rpm range left in them and are not yet at there peak hp rpm - when they top out.

remember - many of the pre-03 cars are very similar in hp to 03+ with their bolt-ons - and the only thing that really seemed to help was lowering and aero.

just 105.. lol.. i got to thinking that i could get a ticket and slowed down. one day i will be brave enough. oh yea. congrats to you fla for havin some fun with your ls. :-D, and i would have loved to see the face of theat guy with the g35. was it a coupe or sedan?
