Welcome aboard......I'm a newbie here (not in age). These guys know their sh*%#t. Listen to them. Don't know about it from their "personal life" advice, but certainly follow their advice from a Mark VIII stand point.
Just knew I was going to have to tear apart the console and look for the neutral safety switch.......But before doing that....came home today and started "wiggling" things....Funny, because it was before I read the most recent "wiggling" posts.....Some WD 40 strategically placed....working...
1994 Lincoln Mark VIII.
Third Brake Light works, Tail Lights work.
But . . . .
Neither side of the rear brake lights work. ????
Signal Lights do not work, nor does the Emergency Flashers. Neither front nor back.
Back up lights do not work.
Checked Fuses. All good.
Ya'll are insprirationas. Go Fast great job on the engine compartment. Repaint of the enging covers or mega cleaning???? Or both I guess.
For those that don't know....Duck is my father-in-law and my "leader" with this project. He purchased a 1993 last year and has been restoring it. I...
My 1994 "country yard find" was missing (from an engine performance standpoint). Tried the SeaFoam (into the vacuum line) and put some fuel injector cleaner in the fuel tank. No good. Got new plugs and plug wires installed yesterday. BINGO!!! Purrrrrs like a baby kitten now. Awesome weather...
Thanks for the advice and loved the pics of the Green and Red VIII. They do look beautiful. Still undecided.....but leaning to the painting them the color of the car. No bondo though.
Yeah, I've certainly considered that and may very well do it. I've looked at alot of the pics on here and do like the color matched ones on the black gen ones.
But was curious if there is a real option out there to keep the "chrome".
The $500 Mark VIII (1994) Black on Black goes into paint next week. the chrome (like) insert in the side moulding and both bumpers are toast. Let me here it from the crowd.....what do I do??
Does anyone know of any way to "recondition" or "rechrome" the side moulding. . . Surely there's...
Can't we all just get along??? Took the converted car out for a drive today. Didn't get it up to speed. Just "taxied" it around the neighborhood a little. Gotta bleed the brakes, change fuel filter and clean the fuel injectors before I really take it out for a spin. Oh yeah.......Tires...
Yes......but may not be my last......I like the idea of keeping older cars around and "recycling" them.....There's another one in town that I see "slammed" to the ground, parked in the yard.......I think it may be calling my name.
I earlier posted when I first purchased the "$500 Mark VIII". It's a 1994 Model. My Father-in-Law (Screen Name Duck on here) was helping with the diagnostics of the air ride. Never could get it to work. Ordered the conversion from American Air Suspension. Fast delivery and great phone...
Thanks for the welcome wagon. I'm a newbie. Just got all four corners of brakes done the first week and week end. I have air in the rear bags (on jack stands). About to try to tackle the fronts next week end. Leather treated the interior (black on black). I want to be driving in a couple...
Console Lid
I have the same problem on my "new" purchase. The lid latch is broken on my console cover. Is anyone aware if a gen 2 console lid will fit a gen 1??
