    well, with a heavy heart....

I loved my LS, but the nickels and dimes were starting to add up, so I did the same thing and traded it in on a 2010 MKS EcoBoost Ultimate with all the bells and whistles except for adjustable pedals. Had just shy of 43k miles on it. Got it for $20k. Lincoln dealer gave me $3500 for the LS too.

    Remote start question

So is everything that needs to be powered on the ignition switch or do they have to run relays to and from the distribution box? Just so I know whether they've done it right this time around.

    Remote start question

I just had a CompuStar CS700 remote start system put on my 04 LS V8. First off, is the instrument panel supposed to work when I've remotely started the vehicle? The only thing that powers when I remote start is the HVAC system and the lights. The instrument panel and radio are still off...

What the report doesn't say is that if you're in a wreck, it will probably save your life.

    Don't Shoot the Messenger

I saw this list too and I find it funny that the S-Type and the LS are on this list, but the Thunderbird isn't. They're identical except body design. Curious. Having owned my LS over a year now, I think it's more reliable than what its given credit for. Case in point, my mom has owned two...

    Rear deck covering

How do I access that release?

    Rear deck covering

I was reading through that stuff and I saw that the rear seat bolsters can be removed. It shows a latch that you have to use, but it doesn't exactly say where that latch is found. Could you point me in the right direction?

    Rear deck covering

Wanting to replace the stock subs. I know how to get all of the trim off behind the rear seats in order to get the rear deck cover off, but how do you actually remove the rear deck cover? Do you have to remove the trim around the rear pillars? What else has to be done? Thanks!

    Off Topic, but input needed

From what the shop told me (and through a bit of research), there are some cars that are called "Remote Start Ready", meaning you only have to add an aftermarket remote start module without having to do any modifications. He said the LS was remote start ready, but I wanted to check that out...

So I found out which module is on the vehicle. It's an Avital 4003. It's set to start after a specific number of pulses from the lock button either on the keypad or the fob. Another quick question: is the LS remote start ready? I had a shop tell me that it is, but I can't find hard...

    Speaker suggestion

The Tang Band's have a 70oz magnet and 2" voice coils. CDT Audio makes 6x9 carbon fiber subs, but the reviews aren't that great.

    Speaker suggestion

I'm putting in Tang Band 6x9 subs in the rear deck mated to a Rockford Fosgate 200w Punch 2 channel amp.

    Uh BASS..... Zero

Do you get a high pitched whine from the rear subs? If so, then unplug the amp and plug it back in to see if it fixes it. I had that problem when I got mine and that's all I had to do. If that doesn't work, then the amp is either smoked or you've blown a fuse somewhere.

Magnaflow Cats Problem - Need Help

Its a cat, but its not used for emission control (unless it's a California Emission car). When I had my exhaust done, they let me get up underneath there and there was a plaque riveted to the piece in question that says "Not Used for Emission Control."

Ok, so I'm going to hunt for the remote start module that apparently was installed on the vehicle before we bought it from the dealership. Where are the most common places that these things are located?

Replacing the EGR valve is the easy part. Like joegr said, be careful not to crack the fuel rail pressure sensor. Also take care not to break any of the vacuum lines going into the EGR or the PCV hose which runs very close to the EGR valve.

I was under the impression that aftermarket remote start systems disable the PATS system. The PATS system is still active on the truck.
