Thanks for all your info Jim,
it's actually not my car...it's one I was thinking of buying at a dealer. It was a trade in for an '05. Anyways, I asked the dealer to look into it so they said they would. I just want to cover all my bases before deciding which one to buy. Thanks again!!
Jason
I tested an '03 today. When I put it in reverse from park, there was a harsh thud. Is this consistant with a bad tranny? Or maybe one that is on its way to being a bad tranny?
Thanks!!
cool, I'll have to keep all that in mind. Like I said before, when I drove it, I felt one with the car. Don't know why that is but I liked it.
I'm looking at an '03 with 56k miles on it. Every option except NAV. We'll see what happens!
You know, if the only real problems are what you stated, I don't mind that really. Most larger cars need $2-3k in repairs at 120-130k mi. Did you experience many other probs, did the $3k fix EVERYTHING that you know of currently? Thanks!!
Oh yeah, is the v-6 manual as fast as the v-8...
Good words^^. Yeah Lexus are not cheep to fix, however they hardly EVER break!! I can work on my own vehicles too. I'm just trying to find out average cost of ownership over several years and lots of miles of driving. Thanks all!
Can you tell I really like the LS? I would have...
Hi all I'm new here so be nice!!
I'm trying to decide what car to get: An '01-03 Acura TL, 98-99 LS400, or an '03 Lincoln LS. I'm not going to sit here and ask you what car to buy, dumb Q on a Lincoln forum!!
Anyways:
I test drove all three. Acura: Descent Lexus: Smoothest ride EVER...
Hey I'm in sales. I put 26,000 miles on my truck in 11 months!!! Not all highway either!! In the past four years, I've consistantly put over 25,000 on every car I've driven. Until this year, almost ALL miles were city!! My poor ES300
Actually, dealers will typically buy these cars at auction for about $1000 less than kbb trade-in price. I was at an autobrokers and they actually showed me a different kbb used by dealers to get the price they REALLY pay. Most at $1000 under kbb trade. I don't think I'd ever pay $2000 above...
