April MN meet

last year that had a pretty big a$$ empty lot on the north side by the furniture store..maybe be a posibility if its lit up pretty good at night and if the lot is still open?!?

Meet Update

Weather: 4/4 High of 49, Low of 31 Cloudy and Cool. That's what they are saying right now at least.

I checked out the parking lot spot again on friday and it turns out it, it was packed on friday at about noon. I don't know what it is exactly, if it is public or not, but I'm pretty sure we can all meet up there first. There are two long skinny lots right on the lake that we can park and probably take pics. They are located at the south eastern corner of the map I posted earlier, where it says East Harriet. Here is a sample panoramic I took. Unfortunately I couldn't really find a place where we could all park and see the city. Is everyone still on board? Any new ideas?

same here. I got navigation in the car, so the most help I can be is telling you what the nav is telling me. But my # is 218-259-3367
 
Im bringing my friends GPS with me.. I have no idea where the hell it is where we are going... so I guess if you get lost you can give me a ring a ring..

Hey Nic (Fbird18) a lot of people are not familiar with that spot. Can you provide an address of the meeting location so people can plug it into their GPS or mapquest and stuff. Thanks

Directions To Lake Calhoun

The address is:
3033 Excelsior Blvd
Minneapolis, MN 55408

I punched this into my in-car navigation and it found the right place

If you are coming up from the south:
35w North
Take exit 15 toward Lake St/31st St
Merge onto 2nd Ave S
Turn left at County Rd-3/E Lake St
Continue to follow E Lake St/Lagoon Ave
Turns into Excelsior Blvd. Stay on Excelsior Blvd
You will see a large building with a big parking lot on the left. Thats the lot. Turn in now!

OR

If you are coming up from the south:
Hwy 100 North
Take the Excelsior Blvd/County Hwy-3 exit
Turn right at County Rd-3/Excelsior Blvd (signs for Excelsior Blvd/County Hwy-3)
Follow this road for 2 miles. As you get closer to the lake, you will see a large building with a big parking lot on the right. Thats the lot. Turn in now!

OR

If you are coming down from the north:
Head south on I-35E S
Take exit 111B to merge onto MN-36 W toward Minneapolis
Merge onto I-35W S
Take exit 17B to merge onto I-94 W/US-12 W/US-52 W
Take exit 231B to merge onto Hennepin Ave
Turn right at Lagoon Ave
Continue to follow Lagoon Ave
Turns into Excelsior Blvd. Stay on Excelsior Blvd
You will see a large building with a big parking lot on the left. Thats the lot. Turn in now!
