You're welcome. haha
nice tip! oh, for those with nav if you push and hold the top and bottom buttons for 5 seconds it will ask you for a password. enter 1971 (or is it 1791) and you get into the onboard diagnostics. one word of caution while in there....do NOT push the software update button in there it will wipe the firmware and try to update it even though you don't have an update disc. lots of neat stuff in there, gyro data...speed sensor......just stuff to play with.
If you press the set button for the seat then press a button on the remote entry then press 1(if thats your seat setting) every time you push that button your seat, mirrors, and tilt will go to that setting
for example I pressed set, then the unlock key on the remote entry , then the number 1. now every time I unlock the car it goes to my seat, mirrors, and tilt settings
its cool
Yep. With the exception of Quik's trip odometer tip and the speaker diagnostic (is that even in the thread?), this thread could just as easily be titled "things you'd know if you'd just RTFM!"
So, do any of y'all have a tip that's not already in the Owner's Manual?
Pressing 8 and 9 on the keypad at the same time locks all doors
Not really "tips" but I did find some interesting info in the manual: It's not necessary to let the engine warm up before driving. Not sure I believe that one... Also the manual discourages any additives to the fuel or oil. Also not sure I buy that. Oh, and the optimal driving speed to get the most MPG's out the V8 is 55 mph.
Well, not all the time but some sea foam in the gas from time to time isn't a bad thing, is it? Isn't it beneficial to clean gunk out of the fule/oil system now and then?
From a post I found when trying to figure out if my DCCV is going out on me:
A/C - Heater System Check:
Press the Off & Floor buttons simultaneously, and then press Auto
Should start a test on your system.

I've been wanting to try this. What would the "floor" button be? Meaning having the heat coming through the floor vents then press and hold with off?
If you got gunk in there somehow, but top tier gasoline has a lot of detergents in it already. So far (since the 2000's) I haven't found the need for any fuel system cleaners.
I have often wondered how there can be gunk buildup in the fuel system since every oil company's ads say that their fuel removes gunk. If everyone's fuel removes gunk, how can there be any in the first place? Perhaps crappy gas from "Billy-Bob's Cheap 'n Old Gas Company". However, why would anyone want to use such fuel to save a few cents per gallon? If you drove 100,000 miles, get 20 mpg, and Billy-Bob's gas is 3 cents cheaper per gallon, you only save $150 over that 100,000 miles. I'll stick with high quality gas from reputable oil companies.
Here's a little piece of info on the LS that I KNOW isn't in the manual. The THX audio company was funded and created specifically for George Lucas and his creation of Star Wars.
