How often does this happen to you?

I always park way out there unless its at the bottom of a down hill. I try to find the high spot away from the rest so carts dont roll into my rides.
I've had very different responses to parking the way I do (away from everyone and taking up two spaces with my wheels turned just a bit for those few extra style points, every where I park I treat it like a car show)
I've had very nice cars parked near me and had some clunckers too. It never fails though there is almost always some parked respectfully close when I come out. Probably wanting to check out the ride before they go in.
Its really fun in my HHR (not stock) with remote start, its got incredable range and while Im walking to my car I'll start it if I see someone near it and they try to look inside and then look all around like they're wondering "how'd it do that"
Its really not new tech anymore, but its still fun. Most laugh when they see us and say how freaked out they were.

Took this pic a few days ago at one of my accounts. This is on a military base as well. Had about 15-20 spaces between me and the other cars when I walked in. Walked out to find a new CTS-V parked next to me. Car was a little close for my liking, but I will let him slide. Kinda embarrassing the car was dirty, since it snowed the day before.

Had a Shelby GT park next to me yesterday at the end of a lot, but didn't think to snap a pic.

correct but it is not rocket science that there are other things just as bad and worse I am not a smoker but I hate how suddenly everyone knows how everyone else should live there lives

And "next year" it will be alcohol, and prohibition all over again. Hell even protected sex can kill you.

People should just live their lives. If nothing else it's good population control.
..don't get me wrong, I didn't tell any not to smoke, smoke away for all I care. I did for 15 years and will still enjoy a nice cigar and cognac! but it does suck for your body. So is drinking, but heck, I do that to! lolol Lots of things are, but to each his own. heheh but my teeth are a lot whiter now, and I smell sexyhot!!! (ask jamie!)

Went out for lunch at work the other day, parked as far away as i could pretty much.

Came out to this.

I mean i looked and no ding, but i just got my first scratch about 5 months ago on the passenger fender. 1st day of training for work, i was so pissed off.

Lord have mercy if I ever walk out to Tux and see a ding...Pepp would taking a collection to bail me outta the slammer...

You guys are just freaks, it kinda scares me, I'm sorry, but it is just a freakin car, not your newborn child. You talk about going to jail beating people up, and stressing yourself out over a ding or scratch, its called money, you all have it, or you would not own a lincoln. You could spend 1 grand on exhaust or who knows how much on a full synthetic oil change, or god knows how much on big brake upgrade and wheels, if a dent cost a few hundred, big deal, and yes a few hundred is alot to me too.

Then GTFO. I love my car more then any other posession I have including my house and property. If someone screws with it i will beat them. I just knocked a lawn care guy on his ass for aiming his damn leaf blower at the car when I told him not to.

Now I dont agree with the handicrapped stalls nor the expecting mothers stalls, thats a bit much guys. But I do park away from everyone and expect people to leave it alone. If I come out and find a ding on it as it has NONE now caused by some ass hat that just HAD to park on top of my car then I will proceed to repay them 10x over.

Im a nice guy, just dont screw with my car.

+1.

Genuine accident... No problem!

However, damage my car due to carelessness/ignorance/lack of respect, then stand by. :gr_devil:

:soapbox:

I just had one this morning. I parked away from everyone else and made sure that there were two cars behind me on the corners. Don't I come out and some douche has backed into a spot on my drivers side and there are 40 each way? Why is that?

So according to jt351 the only passion anyone can have
In life is family and its OK to have to spend 1000s to fix
Something not mod and didn't even get to break it

uh no, I have a passion for all my cars and except for my 86 beater, still love it tho. It just sounds like you need a prozac, I just think you guys need to try to park normally with everyone else and maybe less people will park real close to you. You guys have proved it here multiple times, saying you park way out there and someone parks right next to you. Just enjoy your car, drive it fast and mod it, Everything I own I have either rebuilt the engine, bored, stroked, CAI, cat back, supercharged, or pullied to almost double the boost on a boosted car,(my 2000 lightning), painted repainted, suspension mods, lowered cars, raised and lowered trucks, Hell I bought my 883 harley and owned it for 2 months and bored it out to a 1200 and put new carb, header, and cams in it, Yes I would be pissed if someone messed with my toys, but I would say SH&^&T and drive off.

my cars 2000 lincoln LS v8, 2000 lightning, 1990 mustang 600hp mid 10 sec 1/4mile, 2005 HD sportster custom, oh yeah 86 ranger

^^^
I tried to park normal with my DD's and guess what happened many door dings
and in both the Town car and 93 mark viii I have had people hit my cars as they
pull in or back out

Glad to know I'm not the only one parking way out west in the parking lots!

I go as far out as I can,and I am SURE its not by a 'buggy bin' I've had quite a few door dings from idiots parking right up to their line. I have been known to be one of those 'don't ride with him if you want a short walk to the door' people. Fine with me,I can ride by myself. :)

I park somewhat out of the way. I've had so many dings removed no matter where I park I'm not all to fussy about it anymore (where I park that is, I hate the dings still!) I have a good guy here that removes them.

As for the putz NoLimit95 using his fathers disability card, it is issued to him, not the car nor you. Up here it is illegal to use like that. You should be proud to be teaching the young one stuff like that...

Really? Do we need to resort to name calling here? I dont approve eaither but all of us do something others dislike. Hopefully he wont do it again but hes a good member here and helps out others all the time. Name calling is uncalled for.

Name calling won't work anyway, because when it comes to convenient parking, there's NoLimit to what he'll do.

The man knows NoLimits. :shifty:

/acting stupid.

I sat in my car waiting to meet my wife one day. This fat women in a small little suv pulls in front of me, threw her door into the cadillac next to her and walks away without thinking twice. I was flabbergasted at what I just witnessed. No effort to avoid hitting the car, just throw the door into his car.

When she got back she threw the door into it again and at this point I stuck my head out the window and said "Just so you know I saw what you did and I plan on giving your plate number and description to the owner of that Cadillac you damaged." She looked at me and shouted what did I do? I replied in a louder more aggressive tone "Are you that much of a fat f'n classless piece of :q:q:q:q that you didn't even realize you threw your door from your garbage vehicle into that guys nice caddy?! Maybe if you lost a little weight you wouldn't have to be such a slow ignorant moron! Regardless I'll make sure he gets your info so you can get what's coming to you! Have a nice day scumbag!"

She just got in her car and took off. I waited an hour the caddy driver never came out. I went into all the stores asking if anyone owned the caddy noone came out. I finally just left a note on his windshield with the info and my phone number if he needs me as a witness. He/she never called.

It's one thing if it was an accident and they didn't mean it, but blatant disregard for others personal property deserves needs to be dealt with!

I park waaay out there too; with any of my vehicles. Seems like most of the time this works. It's the only strategy I have to attempt to avoid the disrespectful, inconsiderate slobs that may intentionally or just through their own stupidity damage my car when they park too close. Unfortunately, I've been unable to find a magic, dumass-free parking spot that avoids these folks 100% of the time. The simple fact is... there's more horse's asses in the world then there are horses.

He's already said he'd continue to do it a few times in this post, calling him a putz is being polite...

This is what I walked out of my house to find yesterday morning. She is my neighbor and knows damn well how important our cars are to us, she sees me out there scrubbing on it every weekend, whether its going to rain or not.
Sure I was parked on the side of her place but she still has her driveway and in front of her own house.
She didnt hit my car but it was close. I had to back it up before the compressor kicked on or I would have hit her. I checked her car for a clean spot in all the dirt it was covered in and nothing. Lucky B!tch!
See if we help her catch her little rat of a dog again next time it gets out and shes not home.
