How often does this happen to you?

I went to Wally World today after work, I get out to the parking lot and look and what do I see, a freight train of carts lined up behind my and many other cars with no cart attendant around to move them. I looked around and saw no one. Pissed me off having to search for this :q:q:q:q:q:q:q. I went up to the remote buggy, to try and move it myself and no switches or doodads to remote start it. Finally after about 5 minutes the Lil :q:q:q:qer showed up.

I had that same thing happen to me once when I had my F-150 at Wally World. I waited a couple minutes and never saw the fugger and since they are all remote operated no I couldnt move it. Had the powered cart right behind my truck. Since it was a big ol 4x4 I just put it in reverse and pushed the cart out of the way.
I miss that truck sometimes. :(

Not directly related to the posts immediately above, but on the cart subject:

Only in the USA have I observed this 'abandoned cart phenomenon' - easy way to put an end to it - make people pay for carts and get their money back once the cart is properly returned. (this is the system I grew up with - works well)

At least in my area, Wally World has some of the crappiest carts in the business. You would think with being the biggest chain outlet in the country, that they would have nice carts, instead I normally each visit have to pull 5-6 carts out of the cart stall until I find a tolerable wobbled cart. Pisses me off, and hardly any of the employees speak any english. I asked wal-mart manager about that, I was shocked to learn that it is not a requirement to be hired.:mad:

This is a great thread as it says almost everything I do?!
If I go Grocery shopping I put the stuff in my Pass side footwell or on the seat as my trunk is all Speaker now.

So I normally park way at the end of the lanes and park towards the drivers side line so I have room to open the pass door and put my stuff in.

I come out of Shoprite and there is a F'n Minivan park a foot from my pass door across her drivers side line :runaway:

So with no other cars in that section of the lot and her deciding to park that close to me I move my car. I then parked my shopping cart right under her drivers mirror and of course what happens as I do this but a Chinese lady walks past my car and stares at me for what I did

The Walmart by me is pretty scary with what winds up next to your car when you come outside too...

i dont get the cart issues either, people will walk two times farther away from the cart return in the opposite direction to leave it in a spot. ive gotten into a few good yelling matches in the parking lot. my father in law doesn't have a car so i drive him to walmart usually once a week  one time this dumb bitch was parked in front of me, and directly behind her car (across the isle) was a return. what does she do? squeezes her cart around her car and puts it right in front of me (as i sit there and watch:mad:) so i get out, get the cart as she gets in her car and i maneuver it back around her car as she mouths to me "thank you" and i leave it behind her car and walk back to my truck. she gets out and starts yelling at me " what the fukk is your problem!!!?" and i point and yell back "the fukking cart return is right there! right fukking there! and your dumb ass puts it up here so it car his another car, im sorry you drive a piece of shyt but i dont and would rather not have a shopping cart crammed into it!" theres been a few other occurrences but that was up there, fukkin stupid people

See, I enjoy returning the cart - the further away the cart return is, the better - I scoot them like a skate board and jump on for the ride. :D Of course, doing this has it's risks - reversing SUV's being one... :shifty:

Interesting observation that I'm sure nobody cares about:

All the carts I've used in the USA steer at the front - the ones back home steer from the rear. Oh, and we call them trolleys. :D

Something else interesting that I'm sure nobody else cares about:

At this one shopping mall back home, there is a long, really steep elevator ramp for carts. (grocery center is on top floor of a mall) Anyway, the carts have magnetic wheel locks, so when you get on the ramp, the cart locks in place, then releases at the bottom - kinda' cool for people who haven't experienced such a thing before.

I live on a college campus, so my Mark has had it's share of dings. The one that ticked me off the most was a Caprice Classic that was parked in front of me on an inclined lot moved forward and knocked my front fender in a little bit. That pissed me off so bad!

I was at Wally World today and I found a string of about 10 carts behind a car (not mine) so I did the nice thing and moved all of them inside the corral so as not to block the car in. I hate people who leave carts in the middle of a space too.

Think I got everybody beat on the asshat parking jobs; I occasionally pop into mall parking lots with a fast-food joint for lunch - with my work truck. It's a tri-axle dump-truck that takes up alot of room - about 6 parking spots.

I try to be nice about it, parking way away from everybody else, but after being blocked in once after parking nicely only taking up two spots and not being able to manoever out - it's always angle parked now.

Parking in the back works. Am scraping my Cougar now, back when it was newer+nicer I always parked way out of the way. Even now as it sits in my garage being disassembled, a tired, worn out, rotten floored turd, there are no door dings, dents, scrapes, etc.

My TownCar on the other hand, has dings/nicks/scratches along every inch of door trim from careless parking. Previous owners fault, but they're still there.
