LaserSVT 98 White Pearlescent Progress Thread

Ah fuggidy fugg. I got some more paint to finnish touching up the covers but it appears there was crap in the new can. It made the paint textured now. By the time I noticed it I had covered 1/4 of a valve cover. I decided I would run with it and see how it turned out. So I recovered both covers and then cleared them. Not sure if I like the textured look but the only alternative is to sand and paint the new VCs when they show up.
What do y'all think?

Why can't you sand those and repaint them?

Got my trans cooler, uprights and sway bar and then FedUp delivered the gaskets.

Thanks Sapperfire for making the trip and thanks SVO for doing a great job on the uprights!

Replaced my puny stock front sway bar with my Addco 1.25" bar that I have owned for like 6 months now.
Also put in some polly greasable bushings. :)

be forewarned that the sway bar MAY hit the pinch weld on the frame. I had to notch mine to get it to fit and not rub.

Thanks for the heads up. I will be sure to watch that. My stock sway bar was a good 3/4" away from that and the new bar is only .25" thicker so I may be ok.
Thing sure is a heavy SOB! Double the weight of the stocker. After the blower install I could feel the nose lean more in corners so I am hoping this bar will cure that problem.

there were alot of problems getting mine to clear and when i called scp about it he told me that it was an issue on some but not others. I happened to have a problem model don't really know why, just seems to be the way it goes for me.

What about the grease fittings? Will you be able to access them on the car? I would put 90 degree ones on for ease later on.

looks good,
be aware that unless you stiffen the rear bar ,your car may now develop a push if you like to corner on the edge of tire adhesion, stiffening the front gives the rear more grip and vice versa.

either way,the reduced body roll will be nice for normal semi- aggressive cornering.

Is the stock front sway bar hollow too, like the rear one? I've got a solid one from a 95 TBird SC to put in mine.

You don't need the ADDCO supplied spacers under the ES mounts, they're taller than the stock mounts. In fact, if you use them, the bar is more likely to hit the sheet metal.

And where are the collars? They need to be installed.

I dont have collars nor have I ever seen them. Also my mounts are SHORTER then stock. I know what yours look like and what you have, I sent you a PM asking if they were the same at the time I also asked if there was a diference between the red and black. Anyway, these are the ones I asked about.
I wanted to avoid using the bars but no such luck. I have three sets now and two sets use the stock brackets.

Also, moes. I have the same size Addco in the rear and all the chasis bracing stuff except for subframes as I cant find them ready made.

He doesn't have those collars to install because they weren't given to me when I picked up the bar

I don't have a copy of the PM, but those are the mounts I used in the rear, p/n 9.5165G. What you wanted for the front is p/n 9.5172G. I don't remember if you asked about the front or the rear, and if I lead you astray, I apologize.

Mentioned in this previous post.

No. Its fine. I am done fuggin with it. Don't matter what's wrong it won't go back in the car till its forged.

Ya, but I think you'd feel better knowing it really was in the bottom end... But its behind you now anyway... onward and upward!

first a safety meeting, then onward and upward, or sitward and eat some cheeto'sward, and think about working, and then laugh and have another safety meeting.

did the motor show up today stiff upper lip?
Nope. They were supposed to deliver Friday as per their tracking but called me on Friday to say it will be here Monday.
Then today after the delivery time had passed I called them and they said the driver was having problems with deliveries today and will be here tomorrow and they will call me at 10:30 to know around when they feel like showing up.
