So..... yay!


The engine showed! Truck couldnt get into my driveway and had no fork lift so whe had to drag it on a pallet jack all the way down my driveway. Now the crate is at the end of my car port and I have to figure out how to get it IN the car port. :lol:

I feel your pain about the back thing. The way that crate is buried I would try just getting it lifted with a 2x4 and sliding more wood under neath it like two rail tracks and then going on the other side with the 2x4 and levering it forward a bit at a time until you are under the car port. It might work and keep you from screwing your back up. Some times the extra weight I carry comes in handy!!!

Looked again at the pictures, would the engine lift not reach it and pick it up if you had a strap long enough?
 
bill take an eye bolt and screw it into the wood there is 2x4 all around the perimeter of the top of the crate and use the hook of the hoist to lift one end up and slide the dolly under it. or just take the top of the crate off, remove the sides then hook the engine hoist to the block and lift it out.

Well I got it apart and in the car port. Nice job on the crate Jamie.

Noticed that the 97 has a different plaque on the COP cover. Also the valley cover is rubber instead of cardboard.

So I started to dress the new motor. Still have to swap over the flex plate, manifolds and mounts and that should be that. Then may try and intall it tomorrow.
