So today its even hotter, but I wanted to get it around the block and "drive" it. Drove it about 3 miles worth in my neighborhood first with AC off (so the fan wouldn't be on by default), and then once it stayed in the middle, I turned the AC on. (I was dying lol) No changes. Pulled back in the garage and let it idle for another 5-10 minutes, still no changes. Gauge didn't fluctuate or anything.
I was sick of seeing "LOW FUEL LEVEL" and "LOW WASHER FLUID" every time I started it, so I grabbed my only gas can I use for my mower, emptied the 87 into my Explorer, then ran up to the gas station and got about 3 gallons of Premium, and a jug of washer fluid. All is well now. Fresh fuel in it, plenty of washer fluid, no more warning messages.
Also permanently fixed the message center buttons. Another common thing ive seen on almost any LS in person, those buttons' mounts have snapped and the buttons are sitting way back under the vents, as were mine. Well, PO had a tiny dab of some glue, but that didn't do jack. I tacked them in place with hot glue to hold it, and then used some JB-Weld.
Is there any way to adjust the auto-headlamp delay? I think mine said it was on 20 seconds, anyway to bump that up? I remember the 1st gens you just turned the knob farther IIRC to extend the delay, but mine does no such thing. I miss that little feature, my Explorer doesn't have that. I like the extra light when i'm getting out, grabbing my mail and going inside every night after work.
Definitely gonna need pads and rotors. It stops just fine, but these rotors are so rusted, they don't seem to be clearing up while i'm driving it. Would be awesome if the Power Stop(?) drilled and slotted kit I bought for my Explorer would fit. Doubt it, same bolt pattern though. Been sitting in my utility room with a pile of parts for the Explorer that won't be going on before I trade it back in.
These AC seats work great. A little slow, but after 4-5 minutes they're getting nice and cool. Never had that before, and never want to be without it!
