My LS' Progress

Hey M4rk I see your from Ontario where abouts are you located?

Thanks fellas, I really appreciate the feedback!

Nice and clean. I'm thinking about getting rid of the badges too. Not sure if it would look well on a red car however.

PM me a pic of your rear (lol) and I'll 'shop them out :)

Too bad the tips arent pushing out any real sound.

Can't justify the price, plus there isn't an exhaust setup I would really like.

Barrie, about an hour north of Toronto. It's quite the drive from Windsor.

It seems like the tips were just hanging in there loose. Much better fit now.

What's next?

What's next?

Windshield Tint!

Llumar Air Blue 80. 40% heat rejection, this stuff is on par with 20-35% ceramic tints in terms of heat and UV rejection. I didn't want dark, just less heat.

It has a blue hue to it (duh), but the sky was very blue today. No polarizing filter on these shots, so what you see is what you get. I'll try to get more pics on a cloudy day.

Got new tires coming in soon, Kumho Ecsta LX Platinums.

love the car Mark, and I'm still jealous of you LSE tails...but not for long!!!

It may just be the pic, but are your headlights kinda hazy?

Yep, they are slightly pitted, more so the driver side.

Looking good. Cool how you have been able to document your progress from day one. Wish I had donesomething like that in th beginning. Very nice work sir.:)

Thanks guys and girls. The cat is really a bear lol.

@Rollin I think that's about it. I'm nearing 83k miles so I better start saving up for repairs!

I just picked up some new tires locally. My order for Kumhos was cancelled as they are backordered :( I really can't wait anymore, plus Active Green & Ross had a sale for 25% off (or 1 free if you will).

I really hope buying a discontinued tire doesn't bite me in the ass.

Some people buy wheels, I buy tires :) 3rd and hopefully my last set of winters I'll have to go through to be happy.

General Altimax Arctic - 215/55R17.
Made in June 2011, in Germany. Fresh rubber is the way to go.

So you old your last set because you weren't happy with them? I assume you were going to get a winter beater to save the ls from the snow

Not yet, hoping to sell them soon. All four have 10/32" left, so it's a great deal. I got the Generals because I need a more snow oriented tire. The Michelins are high performance winter tires, no good in deep snow.

No winter beater, can't afford that lol.

Winter Mode Finalized

Got me some splash guards for winter use. Straightforward install, but I'll be taking them off once winter is over. Here are a few pics I snapped after an ONR wash (it was cold out!):

I also wanted to Plasti-Dip those wheels, but at $20 per can I decided against it.

Put some foam tape between the paint and splash guard. That will keep the plastic guard from rubbing off the paint. Been there, done that.

Not as bad as I thought, but you better take that crap off in a few months!

Thanks for the tip! I'll get around to it one day, too lazy to take them off right now :D

Nah, they're not a huge eye sore since my LS is black. Don't worry, they'll come off one day.

I also learned something new today. Using a tripod + timed shutter can lead to blurry shots somehow..

Here are some more pics:

Doesn't look bad on a black car.
Just make sure you do insert something between that and the body panel.

My old mark viii had them and i was stuck with them, cause they completely had destroyed the paint.

OH NO!

..it's just a quick (but pain in the ass) vinyl wrap. I actually really like how it looks, sans-chrome :frown:

Lots of bubbles left over due to the cheap film I used, and rushing the install. I might get some proper vinyl and wrap it permanently if I decide to keep the matched look. Removing the surround revealed a lot of peeling paint, all around its perimeter though

What the?! That looks good lol Now you officially have an LSE rear end.

More pics though hoe.
