Just replaced one of my front hub assemblies. One I took out was completely shot.

One of the easiest 40 minute jobs you can ask for on the LS!

What indications did the car give you that this needed to be done? Wondering about mine.

Plasti dipped the plastic rocker pieces around the bottom of the LS. Made a big difference from the greyish color that they were.

I have my old set still. I was going to throw them away. If you want them, they are yours. Rather have someone put them to good use them just throw them in the trash.

Checked the rear brakes out, they look like they still have some life left in them. Anyone know the wear spec for a Gen2's rear pads?

What do you think of the AR2? I have been considering them for a while, but now with the AR3 coming out I will have to check that one out too.

Excellent, thanks. I've attributed the vibration I've had to the tires since it normally went away when the car warmed up, and was worse in the winter, but here lately it's starting to vibrate all the time. It isn't bad and isn't making noise, but it is becoming annoying. As I'm also starting to get the initial warning for worn brake pads I think I'll order a set of hubs and make a day of it.

We changed the serpentine belt and installed a new oil pan gasket on my wife's 2004 LS Sport, 3.9. (Old belt had "Jaguar" written on it.)

Gasket was a cinch. Took longer to set up the ramps and drain the oil than it did to change the gasket.

Belt was a bit tricky, but thanks to this forum, I copied the belt layout and all went well.

Then, we changed a leaky pwr steering hose on my 64 Galaxie 500XL convert, rebuilt 390. Good news, went on pretty easy.

Bad news, pressure hose sprung a leak. Ordered one from an old Ford parts dealer and have my fingers crossed that it'll here by Tuesday night so that I can drive the parade Grand Marshall car in a local July 4th parade.

Otherwise, I'll use my 2003 black/saddle retro TBird instead.
