What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

I got 3 painted 10 spokes put on and as soon as i get the 4th one from GMAN i will get that done. :D Now the bad while getting the 10 spokes put on the mechanic discovered that the rear wheel bearings are bad so i am going to get that done on Wednesday the total for that will be $224.00 OUCH

This was actually a couple days ago, on Monday, but anyway...

I picked up my 98 from the body shop...

Some nice person where I work was kind enough to get me a free repaint on the entire passenger side of the car (keyed the ENTIRE length of the passenger side). While it was there, I had them also repaint the drivers quarter. I had a couple small dents from the handlebar of my bike falling against it in the garage, and the paint was cracked pretty badly on the inside of the fender lip from rolling them.

They painted the driver's quarter and a grille that I had for a total of $300. I need to bring it back in a couple weeks after the paint has fully cured, so they can wet sand it and get rid of some orange peal. Otherwise, it looks awesome.

On the way home, though, I noticed that the steering all of a sudden felt very hard, and then I noticed the battery light on and the engine temp getting hotter. I pulled over and checked and found that the serpentine belt had completely shredded itself and was all over inside the engine compartment.

The owner of the body shop actually came and picked me up and took me to O'Reilly's to get a new belt and then let me use some tools he brought along to change it out right there on the side of the road. I was super grateful. Nice guy.

They would get my business again, awesome!

Yuck

Pepperman, I can get that bearing new for $29.99 and it's pretty easy to change em..I can do a write-up if ya need

Finally got around to doing my system. 4 infinity references 5x7 off of an old kicker 4 channel. 2 12" new style Rockford fosgate p3's on a precision power pc 1800 at 1 ohm. Yeah it's stable :)

The heat finally got to my rearview mirror again. This was by far the longest its stayed on. Time to run to wally world.

It rained today for the first time since I got the car "done" took her out to a big parking lot and did donuts and drifted it

Definitely! You should see the cars in this guy's shop....

At any given time, he's got one or two Porsche's, a Jaguar or two, a Benz.....

He and his brother both worked for Porsche for nearly 20 years. Because of this, he's built up quite the reputation among Porsche owners and the like.

There's always some kind of high-dollar car in there. Funny, cuz even with the calibre of cars that I've seen in there, they just couldn't stop talking about how much they loved my car, and wanted it for themselves....

Their body guy/mechanic is a DIE-HARD Chevy guy, and he said he'd convert for my car. lol.

Anyway, if I weren't moving (most likely out-of-state) in a couple months, they'd have a life-long customer in me....

Turned it around under the carport so I can actually start the suspension rebuild on the drivers side. Between driving my new truck and the heat, I have not wanted to mess with it in about a month.

Okay. That dam "gear position error" is gettin on my nerves. Every time the CEL goes out, I get that message and it comes back on for a week. Does anyone know where the sensor is that controls the indicator? When I get that error message, the PRNDL indicator on the instrument panel goes dark. Then when I turn the car off and start it back up, it lights back up. The code reader says it has a PRNDL sensor out of range error. Is that the MLPS? So far, this is the first time I'v had this problem on the '97 LSC. Help?

Well, yesterday I swapped out the air bags for Strutmasters springs and new rear shocks. Thing rides like new.

Drove it yesterday, only put a little over 600 miles on it since I've had it

Good, don't be racking up the miles on my next car :)

Had the oil changed at lunch (temporary 5/30 penzoil w/ filter)
Replaced leaky Oil Pressure thingy

Installed my new/used cooling fan only to find I think it took out the VCLM. Start A/C but fan will not come on. Either the system is low on gas or the VCLM was burned up when the motor siezed. Engine comes up to proper temp and all seems good but I am not willing to experiment until I get to the bottom of it and see that cooling fan run again. Car will have to wait until I can get into it this weekend.
