What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

For the first time in the 4 1/2 years of owning my mark...........

It was driven in snow. I expected the worst and I guess I'm pleased. Handles very much like my 98 marquis did, which isn't all that great. We only had about 2.5" on the ground by the time I left work so the roads weren't THAT bad. Took a bit to get going from a complete stop but once moving it wasn't all that bad, I was getting passed alot though. If we get an actual blizzard I'll be up it's creek. :(

But the Mark and myself got home safe and sound. :steering

Just drove mine in the snow for the first time as well..probably the same "storm" as you. Got the job done well..just turn off that stupid traction control and go at it..can't wait to wash the slush off tomorrow at work though.

Seeing as how i'm about 40min from you I'd hope so. ;) But yeah, tc has to come off. I'm crossing my fingers that we won't get hit hard for the rest of winter. Snow tires are now on my list, but it'll have to wait till summer. Ebay/cl here I come.

I've driven both my old '96 and the '97 in the snow many times. They did okay. As long as you know how to drive a RWD car in the snow, that is. They get a little tail happy sometimes, but still quite controlable. I haven't gotten stuck yet...knock on wood:)

I can and as I said this is the worst I've ever driven in snow

I'll also add that being lowered doesn't help at all. :)

Oh definitely understandable!

Still trying to figure out which acc is making a whining noise that doesn't go away. Frustration kicks in.

Check your A/C compressor clutch. That round disc behind the triangular piece can come loose and rub against the pulley making an awful squealing noise. Sounds just like a bad tensioner or idler pulley. Happened to me recently.

Sometimes it's the driver...

I don't think it's the clutch. I had one go bad on my marquis and the noises are very diff. This is like a loud annoying constant sc whine that varies w/ the rpm's. It's been happening for a while but it's getting louder and louder now that it's cold out.

P.s. It's not a "Chirping " noise.

Taunted a 4.6 GT with it today.

Picked up a magic eraser to clean the yellowing gray interior

It's one of the pullies/acc's, I just don't know which one. I don't get any feedback through my stereo, alt's a year old.

Not today but on Moday I was driving on the 10 freeway and there was a huge driveshaft from a truck crossing the entire lane.I had no chance to avoid it as there were cars on either side of me and a truck close enough to not take a chance at stopping behind me.

I had no choice but to run over it at about 65 mph.

It bent the cross member and took out my Rack & Pinion.I had to strong arm it to turn so I could get off the freeway.

Picture of the damage.

There was other small damage but that was the biggest.
Holy crap! Sorry to see that. Just threw away a perfectly good rack and k member too. :(

BTW, dont use the Fram oil filters. Motorcraft only.
