What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Kinda defeats the purpose with the belt still wrapped around it..

Trust me, that idling pulley on that electric spins as freely as can be.

Yes, it's a Meziere WP346S electric with a March 1158 under drive fluid pulley/balancer. If anyone is wondering what size belt fit, it's a Gatorback 4060945.

This car is a 'restore' project and has been sitting for quite a while (I'm sure you can tell, cause everything has a bit of surface rust on it).

being electric doesn't mean you can just get rid of the belt.

i think your missing the point of a serpentine belt.

..this is what happens when I try to be funny when I'm drunk, I'm going back to my corner

sat in the mark and was bumpin a new cd i made when i just noticed how to turn the headlights on and off LOL. the auto lamp was all the way up so i turned it all the way down till it clicked, then i turned the car off and back on and they stayed off until obviously i turned them on. they used to stay on for 30 seconds after i shut the car off, i think it's easier to just turn them on myself.

One of the best moves you ever made.

haha yes, i felt like an idiot that i never even noticed that. From leaving the auto headlights on for years (my father)- and they stay on for 30 seconds after the car shuts off, could that of made the chrome burn out faster?

Finally adjusted parking brake. Cable was so stretched! All good to go now.

With 65 watt burning hot halogen bulbs inside the housings being lit up for no reason, yes, that would surely help burn the chrome much faster. Lets just say for instance that they had HID kits out 10 years ago for our cars and had been put into your car, I would almost bet that your chrome would be near perfect right now. HID is 35 watt and much much less heat, to almost no heat at all. Halogen is 65 watt and hot to the touch on the outside of the housing, so imagine that hot bulb being inside that little section of the housing. Look how close it is to the top and bottom of the housing. If they would have just put in HID's from the start, I bet 90% of their headlight complaints would never have been heard.

As for a Mark VIII, HID's aren't for HID housings only. They work in halogen housings just fine and Sylvania could only hold the patent for that bulb for 7 years. There would have been a replacement. Well, there is because I have two of them. Always install a relay harness with any low beam HID kit. You can't go wrong. High beam is an option.

Got ready to go to work this morning and the back end of the car was on the fuggin ground:( It got down to almost freezing last night and my rear air bags leaked down. They haven't done that in a long time. Usually I try to park it with the front end pointing down hill but it got so cold last night that didn't even work. It still pumped up fine and it's fine in the parking lot at work, but another cold night and it'll be sitting down again in the morning. Dammit I need a good set of rear bags BAD! But I just can't afford it right now. Being broke sucks!

Thaywood, I'm taking my 102K mile bags out of the 98 very soon as I bought all new Ford suspension. I'll let them go cheap since I'll have no use for them. Only my LF was leaking, the rears never leaked.

Took this pic yesterday out in front of a store nearby. I drove it like this for about a 1/2 mile or less down a road I thought was very smooth..... NOT. Never again will I do that. While driving, I reset the "Ray's switch" and was back up to normal within a minute. Extremely bouncy when dropped like that.

I drove like that on highway 90 in Biloxi during Scrapin the Coast last year. The rear was not bottomed out seeing that I swapped the shocks for some new ones from a 89 t-bird. Give me a little cushion. :)

The road was smootha nd traffic was slow. So I had no problem and the Mark looked sweeeet. I'll be going back this year.

Anyways, I bought my trac-loc! :-D
