I had a similar experience a couple days ago (in Mexico, of course) with a 2010 Mustang GT with the 3v 4.6. I was in my stock 97.

I was behind him at a light and he got on it a little bit, so I gave it some gas and decided to see how well I could keep up. To my surprise, I had to let off the gas a couple times.

Shortly after that, we both got on the highway. It sounded like he floored it (and smelled like he blew a little carbon out), so I got on it again, and ended up gaining on him and slowly passing him as we reached some impressive speeds. I hope he just didn't know how to drive a stick. I drove a stock 2005 Mustang GT (with the same 3v 4.6) that felt noticeably faster than my 97, even just in part throttle while entering the highway in second gear.

It was obvious he was trying, or else he wouldn't have hit the speed he did. I gave him a good-natured smile as I passed him, but he was nothing but serious-face.

Just out of curiosity, I've got some blue T5 SMD LED interior lights that I am planning to install in the instrument cluster some day on the Mark. My question is, several of the buttons on my EATC panel have gone out. Has anyone ever replaced these bulbs? And if so, are they T5 bulbs and how difficult is it? I'm wondering if you can just pull the unit out of the dash and take the front cover off and replace the bulbs that way? And since individual buttons have been failing one after the other, I assume there's an light for each button? Anyhoo, any advice would be appreciated. I can't afford to buy a replacement unit because they are fargin' expensive :)

Good? On the bulb situation I have thought about changing all if mine as well but like to b coordinated with it as well. U figure u could just replace each bulb individually it I just can't answer with a yes. I'm sure some1 here would b able to assist. I like the new led look throughout so if u get going at it and succeed pass just the interior bulbs

Check engine light is off, hopefully for awhile at least. Did the seafoam and been babying it so went to reset everything from the battery to hopefully clear the codes. I don't have access to a reader so doing it manually. Any advice share away

I was going to do a dash bulb swap but ONLY if I could have the message center changed to blue also but it can't be done or lets say, not for cheap anyway. It would take a new screen to be installed with an updated one and some other stuff was mentioned to me that could be done but it was going to be costly. I said forget it, the dash can remain lit in green.

Blue is a primary color. There are no two colors that can be combined to make blue, or not the blue all of us are after anyway. I'm still looking into it and going to go visit one more place in Decatur, AL. and if they can't make it blue for a decent price, I'm leaving mine alone. I have swapped all of the main interior lighting out to 6000K SMD LED's and that's good enough for me. I would love to have blue or maybe even the Pontiac orange color in the dash but I just don't see it happening with the message center display. If I can't make it ALL match, then I'm not doing it. I may however install new green LED's in the dash to freshen up the lighting but that would be about it.

I think you may have misunderstood. I'm talking about the EATC, or the Electronic Air Temperature Control, HVAC controller :) Some of the buttons have gone dim. And I'm wondering how much of a PITA it is to change out the bulbs.

If I remember correctly, it's not hard at all.

Remove the EATC from the dash and pry the face off. There are clips on the top and bottom of the face that are holding it to the unit. Be careful, I think there's a ribbon cable that will still be connected. Once the face is off, you should be able to tell where all of the bulbs are. I think they have a slot for a small screwdriver and just turn 90 degrees to get them out.

This is all from memory, so I'm not 100% on it, but it shouldn't be too big of a deal.

You're correct and the face can be removed completely by pulling the ribbon wire out of it's place. When done, press the ribbon wire back into place and then snap the front back on.

Did nothing. Its going to be frigid tonight so i'll either be using my Oem block heater for the first time or just throwing the charger on it just in case.
