Here's your difference between the Glitch (white) and OEM ballast (black)
Another difference is one works, the other doesn't

And when I open my trunk, it actually OPENS.. like I could launch catapult ammo with it now :) I need to glue some weights to it I think to keep it from bending the arms and smacking the new back glass

And new MB Quart 1000watt mono installed

And no Smoking!

When I switched my ballast my hood didn't open that fast when I had nothing behind the light

The Glitch ballast should have come with some GTO sleeving. I would recommend covering both wires with it anywhere they are near each other. I bought a neon taillight a year ago that came with a Glitch ballast. It was sold as non-working. When I received it, I tested it and confirmed it as non-working. I started looking at the wiring (botched job, very amateur) and the 2 wires had arced through the insulation to each other, preventing it from working. I separated the wires and it actually started working! Very surprising! Lol.

Just a little helpful advice...

Each of the connections is triple insulated ;) thanks for the lookout

Never owned a Gen2, but I do have to admit your (cross breed!) Look's dam good! Better then any other cross/breed I've seen! I doubt I'll ever get the chance to own a Gen2. Had this Gen1 one for 14 years now and the wife for 21 (lol). She know's what I got into this one and will never let me get another one. Still putting money into this one too! She may not look very good but runs like a scalded dog!
When this one is done.....so am I!
Gen1 or Gen2...I would like to have one of each, regardless of the problems! But in all reality it will probably never happen.

Right off the top of my head this is what I have in her. (should be close)

7500 for the car when I bought her at 5 years old.
Fuel pump (600) (shop installed)
Front air springs...shocks...whatever you want to call them and air compressor/drier. (2k) (dealer installed)
Rear upper shock mount's x 2. (90x2= 180)
Aftermarket GG rear shocks. (40)
Headlight fix, upper control arms, front stabilizer bar end links, battery, alternator, water pump, kenwood and 8 speakers, drivers window motor, driver door lock actuator, vent fix, AC recharge, brakes all the way around, tires, leds, hid's, OD fix, back seat fix, driver door hinge fix, (2k by me!)
Probably a lot more I forgot about!

Still to come, trans fluid and filter and possibly more.
Front lower control arms.
Front Strut rod bushings.
Rear bags (there 19 years old, not sure why there still holding air :)
All the bushings in the back (haven't looked back there yet).
And if it's still running when I'm done, maybe paint and bodywork!
And probably some more thing's I'm missing!!

I don't want to add all that up or I might shoot myself in the head! (but then again bullets are hard to come by), But I know she's fun to drive! Even after 14 years.
If i would have known about LVC years ago I would have saved a (buttload) of money.
PS....Don't tell my wife how much I have in the Mark! I've been with her too long for a divorce now.

Hey love the loyalty I have not run one up to 200k yet looks like you are on the way, I have had 2 gen 1s and ran them up to 150k and presently have a gen 2 at 130k,I must be luck I have never put more than bags all round, everyone does shock mounts,a couple wheel bearings and some misc. crap in the midst of neon tail light on my gen 2 but I guess I have the right formula buy from orig. owner at about 40k drive them to 150k or so and sell them . 12 years 3 cars 300k. good luck (gen 1s look much better in and out)

I'm sorta like that but I happened upon my first Mark at a need for anything. It had 13x,xxx on it but lasted me to 209k with minimal work. Then a 87k to 139K that I sold cause I landed on a 57k Old Lady Owned garage kept one :D

Just love these things :p

Almost there, should be hitting it next week. Right now she sits in the driveway with 199,906. I hope everyone's last this long!

Drove her to work this morning! Got a new bolt/nut/washer(s) for the passenger side rear lower shock mount and she's up and running again! It's great to be driving the ol' girl again after letting her sit in the driveway for over a week! :)

What grade bolt did you use the first time? Or did you just jam a stick in there?

 Like I said, when I put the '69 Galaxie shocks on there, I had to use a slightly smaller diameter bolt. So I went to the local hardware store and found a suitable set of bolts, nuts, and washers to do the job. Apparently, they weren't as "suitable" as I thought:D This time, my dad brought me a couple of bolts, nuts, and lock washers from the maintenance shop where he works. I think he said they were grade 9. These were substantially heavier than the ones I used before and they are fully threaded from head to tip. I don't forsee any future problems from these.

She got a compliment today. To bad i'm going to reward her by filling up with more mid grade, she doesn't like mid grade. :(

Update: My calculations noted a slight increase in mpg's. Will have to test it again this tank to see if it's true. :)

Sapperfire are u running the same size tires on all four corners or staggered ?

Staggered

Installed the Pioneer Z140 with the (LOL) "bypass" yesterday and reset the gains on the Amps.. pushing the Boston G5 10" for all its worth.. AWESOME sounding system -thou disappointed in the bass.. saving for Boston 555

Well dug the rear deck out of the stockpile and it'll be under construction again. Good news is that all the spray adhesive i've used on it came off with "Tuff Stuff" carpet cleaner. Thats really the only reason why this project is back underway. Now I just need to come up with a better plan to make it function better and LOOK good at the same time. I don't want to recover the whole thing again cause I can never find a shade of tan good enought to flow with the interior. This one will have supports to prevent sagging of the hole.

And I cleaned the rear trunk wall..

finished the fuel pump replacement ,
she started right up like magic :headbang:

...also painted the mufflers black since I had the exhaust dropped down

How do you repair the mirror mounted turnsignal bulbs?
I searched first. Now i ask for help. Thanks

Tried to change the oil filter adapter gasket. Got the 3 bolts out, then got a solid grip and rounded the 4th while yanking on it?? Tried all kinds of madness but couldn't get it out.

First failed repair. Let's hope the lucas helps slow the leak down..

Switching from Conventional oil to Synth will increase the rate of leak.. not the other way

I think he may have been talking about the Lucas Oil Stabilizer with stop leak. I've used it a couple of times. It's just like any other stop leak. It don't work...Only way to stop the leak is to fix it.
