What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

so, I'll push my abilities and try replacing just the lower ball joints (vs entire LCA) for the sake of spending less $ and learning a new trick...at Rck auto they range from $10 (Raybestos service grade) to $40 each (Motorcraft oem)...why are the MC's superior? middle of the road is the Moog 'problem solver' for $25 each

I hope you have am arbor press. I've changed just the ball joint and the whole arm. No matter which way you go you will need to remove it.

Today I cleaned up the mess someone else created while I was away. Someone on here suggest this cleaner, so I gave it a try. Not bad but still needs to be cleaned.

Not something I did today but my brother did this a month ago. Replaced all the interior lights to LED. Still don't know if I like this or the OEM. The first time I saw it, it looked ricer-ish but now after a while it's starting to grow on me. it's a little brighter than the pics show here.

Wished it looked like this though. Maybe I need brighter and whiter LEDs.

in Mike's write up, he doesn't remove the entire arm....???

it may/may not matter, but the car we're talking about is a southern, inland car....very little if any rust at front suspension,
but I see that a new LCA also replaces the bushings at the inner end point, so it's probably worth the extra $$

Ordered a set of Arnott UCAs from Advanced Auto for $124 w/ free shipping. I went to the website and there was a link to shop with a %20 discount, and when I checked out I entered another discount code "AP21" and that got me an additional %15 off.

Brightness will vary between bulbs, but the int color and whether or not its a sunroof car will also play a role on how the light appears.

Do you have P. Tan? The bottom pic looks ivory. Still a pretty drastic difference though.

drove the lincoln to work yesterday and aired up the tires......oh and need to hit the dmv to renew my tags, nothing too exciting

What happened to the username caprice?

I haven't owned a caprice in 10 years so it was time for it to go. Plus I got bored today and figured now would be a great time for me to change most of my user names at the places I frequent most. Change is good. :)

It's grey, it's just the camera.

This brace is in front of the forward SRB's, had to remove it to gain access to the 30MM nut's (so I thought I would paint it), it has two stud's on the inside that go to nothing.
What is this brace for and what are the stud's for? It goes from the ds frame to the ps side frame?

Got a call from the owner of my Silver '98 LSC and he told me he put it on CL?

Just needs a starter put in it and it would seem he is incapable of doing so, hence he is now selling it

It's a brace... for...bracing
Also makes a good handle for when you use your Engine Cradle for doing curls

did he get an estimate from a shop or the stealership for that job? I'd bet the stealer wants >$500 parts/labor

Yeah who ever he got a quote from (STS possibly?) quoted him $500

So he told me he would throw me $100 to put a starter in it :shifty:

Had to grease up my new UCA's today already so I took the truck to work. Of course the gas station was at $3.36 for 93 and I didn't have the car that needed it
