What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

filled up my LWB Silverado...with parts from a 95 BoB LSC, seats, complete doors, int trim panels, console, shifter, complete ABS unit incl all connectors and lines- even the dash lites, a/c, trunk and lites, fender, much more- still need carpet, rear deck/dash and steering wheel...175

Did you buy that stuff to resell? I've been wanting to change my car over to a black interior since I got it......Never mind, just seen that you said you were looking for the rest of the black interior parts to what sounds like complete the interior which sounds to me like you're not buying those parts to resell. You're a lucky SOB to find a BOB LSC, hope you grabbed the bumper covers and side trim from it, if you did and don't plan on keeping them I'm interested :D

Just had a "duh" moment a couple of days ago when I realized my '95 doesn't have a fold down arm rest in the back seat  I thought they all had that feature. Now I'm thinking about taking the back seat out of the '97 and dying it white and putting it in the '95. :)

Not to sound like a dick..but who cares? You sit in your back seat while you drive? If its that important find a 96 with ivory interior and pull the back seat. The rear arm rest started in 96 fyi.

dye it white? eh....nah, not happening,
---
btw, I have my ivory back rest from the 96 for the cost of shipping...needs a little cleaning

So heard the rubber fender lip covers making the annoying sound they always make when they come loose from a big bump. Typical wide back tire with the wrong offset. Pull in driveway and go to slip em back on the lip.

They are both gone

Don't think I will be replacing them...

 My kids like to play with the armrest :D And it just seems more luxurious if there is an armrest in the back. And other people do sometimes ride in the back seat of my car on occasion.

today, after 20 years and 201,370 miles, the AC compressor locked up and started smoking.
not a bad run. i'll take it.

so, anyone have a low mileage compressor they can sell? :D

Went outside this morning to start it Front end was lower than normal, pumped it up just fine. Went outside just now and its low again:Bang
pumped it up and hit switch, so now its a waiting game.

I'm guessing the arnott shocks finally are cracking, will confirm that tomorrow.

If its bags might just convert it and be done with it:frown:

How old are your Arnotts?

Yup..join the club evan! If you use your mark as a DD I wouldn't bother keeping air ride on it on the off chance the compressor decides to take a sh*t from years of pumping up leaky bags when you have to be somewhere. If you can take one common failing part out of the equation to make it more dependable..do it!

Just got home from class checked it again with having the switch off this time, and its starting to get low again:mad: Looks like I have some decisions to make. I'm pretty sure its the bags, if i'm extremely lucky it could be the solenoid seals but i doubt it.

All you spring conversion guys, is the ride harsh at all since you converted? Anyone use AAS conversion kit?

I absolutely love my ride. These are the 1" dropped Vogtland. It handles much better than any air ride car I've driven, however nothing will be as smooth gliding as an air system

I believe AAS uses a Strutmaster coil

Wish there was some vogtlands around, althought if shocks are my problem I'm leaning towards new ones. I like air ride too much

on the brown one: reinstalled the wiper assembly, getting ready to have a new windshield installed on that car- it will soon replace the white one as my DD
- on the white one: realized when I had Jose put the windshield in THAT car, he neglected to put the weather stripping back around the cowl grilles under the hood..anybody got a strip they want to trade for something? or even better, sell cheap?
----
found a used black_95_dash assembly and center console that could be used in the white car if/when i convert the int from ivory to black. the parts are about 3 hours away
I wonder if i can transport that front dash in my trunk or back seat of my mark VIII...

I've got both: AAS on the brown car, and Eibach 1.5"s with Tokes on the white car; I don't think the ride is harsh on either; handles turns better no doubt.
The AAS set has about 20k on it; if interested I'll sell ya that kit minus rear shocks. BTW, if your gonna convert go ahead and tell Jay in SC you want stainless upper shock mounts

You can.....Will not fit completely in the trunk.

In the cabin area.......Just make sure to remove the front passenger seat and the rear back and seat cushions, otherwise you may have to replace more parts the dash's sharp metal protrusions will cut up.

That's how I got my rear glass home from the JY. Plenty of room when you pull the unused seats.
