What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Secretly dreams of owning a Gen 1.

I owned both and well if I can put my Gen 2 interior into a Gen 1 :shifty:

Oh and the tail light too :D

i attempted to put the rubber exhaust hanger back on.....ended gettin crap in my eye and its hurt all day and i got ticked and qui....procrastinated

Went to a friends house and got my f+r pads and rotors on. Drives great..Ended up having 2 siezed pins that took a little time to loosen up. And pep boys gave me the wrong rear rotors so i had to get new ones at az. Nearest pb was 40 min away by my house. long day...

Looked at it as I got in my Exploder and drove to work. And I had a thought today. Just a bit of trivial information. I used to work for a company called Metal Forge in Albermarle, NC back in the mid-1990's. We made all kinds of forged steel suspension parts for Ford, GM, and Chrysler. And it just occurred to me that in 1997, we were turning out MN12 strut rods like they were going out of style. And on some days, I was running the machine that was making them. So it's possible that I may have made some of the strut rods on some of our '97/'98 Mark VIII's! Ain't that neato?:)

Got the 18" wheels and tires from k9t8m, they should be going on this evening. I also got pretty much every emission fitting and part from the engine bay of a 97 Cobra including EGR, pipe and all hoses for $15 from a guy on the Corral. This is what I needed to get my intake swap started. The next few months should be exciting for my car.

Flushed the heater core on my 97. Unfortunately, not a lot of crap ended up in the shop vac or in the bucket. PHUCK!

Thermostat this weekend, then a complete flush and fill.

Also have to replace the cup that surrounds the left door handle on the 93. Thought it was the handle itself, so I ordered two new chrome ones. Then I took the handle assembly off and discovered that the spring had broke and the cup had broken. DAMNED pot metal POS!

Put in new color matching Mark VIII floor mats...a lot better than the Hyundai mats I had in there
