I had to replace both my Gen1 and 2's drain plugs. I still don't see how any of the Lube places manage to destroy the threads

had a dream that it was towed to get fixed, then I found it was in a junkyard.....woke up its still there :D......took it down town for engagment pics, the ol lady didn't want to have the car in the pics :(

It wasn't stripped, but it was leaking VERY slowly. The metal washer served its purpose for long enough..It was only 3 bucks shipped from rockauto so i figured why not. This one has the O right intergrated into it, so far so good.

Hate when i have dreams like that. Worse when its been vandalized though.

Washed it by hand for the first time and realized how badly the paint needs to be polished! It feels like sand paper! The paint on the 95 still feels like glass after KK did his thing to it. Where is that little guy when you need him?:shifty:

I replaced my drain plugs with drain valves. Just turn the valve and let it drain. Close it when done and you're ready to go. No threads to cross up or strip out. It's great! Plus I've never had my oil changed by a garage. Not once.

I do my own oil changes 90% of the time but when you buy a used car chances are 90% that they were Lube Shop done :shifty:

I like your drain valve if it isn't down far enough to ever get caught and ripped off? Deff make changes easier sept for the filter since I'm to lazy to install a relocation kit

I drove the sh1t out of it. Avg MPG is down to 13.8
welcome back chadly, been a while

thats what id be afraid of. ive seen it happen on trucks, and we shouldnt have a problem but say your cruising down the road and hit a tire cap (re tread) and that thing hits it. theres a good chance its getting broken off

Got a compliment on the car and wheels. An employee came up and asked if the "hot rod Lincoln" was mine. I told him it was and he said he liked it and the wheels (FU Laser:p) and he asked me about it. I told him it was a car I rarely drive, mostly my fun car.

i dumped about 12 qts of atf on my shop floor when my engine hoist rolled and i couldnt stop it and it knocked over my 5 gallon bucket, i was really pissed because it splashed all over my fridge, my shop wall and me and i had my shirt off so it was extra special. i managed to get the valve body off the 98 trans and j-mod the plate and put the gaskets back on the valve body. tomorrow i will tear down a 97 to snag the electric guts and swap them into the 98 trans and get the trans all buttoned up ready to go in my car.
