What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Put new sway bar bushings in, night and day difference. Found it easier to get to the bolts out if you un bolt them from side behind the tire

Put new rear air bags and shocks on the DA.

Arnott bags, but I got them thru Eddie. Much better ride. I cannot believe how bad the bags I took off were. Obviously original. Brittle, cracked and flaking. The old shocks were also original, and they were toast.

Did some troubleshooting on the front end. UCA's are bad, so the front end is next. I've got some of the parts in my stash already, so I'll probably rebuild the entire front suspension.

cleaned my MAF and balanced my tires. night and day difference. still have a little bit of a vibration in the steering wheel from the front end. but its almost gone.

and ordered Upper and lower Control arms. :D

haha, thats what i am going to do this spring break.

Changed out the serpentine belt. The old one was missing the ribs on half of it. I'm going to change out the idler pulley this week as well. Got a quote from my mechanic on replacing the UCA's, LCA's, inner and outer tie rods, sway bar end links and strut rod bushings at the LCA. Quoted price was $200 with me providing parts. Since I am working 56-65 hours a week this beats me trying to do it in what little free time I have. I should be getting it done in the next few weeks.

Just took the HID's out of the '96 and put them in the hi beams on the '97 LSC. They weren't doing me a bit of good in the '96 since my headlight housings are crap. They look pretty nice in the LSC, though. I can't wait to try them out tonight and see how bright they are:D

Installed an OEM stereo back into the black car since I will be driving it untill it sells. Also fixed the exhaust rattle. That is one very silent car now.

Stared at the grey one and wished I could drive it. :(

Saturday: Clay bar'd the hood, roof, trunk and upper portion of the rear bumper. Waxed the whole car,and brought it to the local car show. Got some mad props from a bunch of old timers. :)

Today,Clayed the drivers fender and door, waxed them good and wiped the car down again and cleaned the rims....again. Boy its chiny!

Got my Cobra Stars in today from Legend1. Thanks for the speedy mailing, like I am in the condition to do anything about them. But they are damn nice to look at.

SCT chip :D and while I was there replaced my clunking control arms and did an oil change with full synthetic (I know those aren't mods but....) Anyway, SCT chip :D I'm happy

Wow, Geno is letting them sell those? Interesting. I hope to order the Lincoln Star Saleen caps soon.

Think i found my steering wobble problem(for the 3rd time)..I switched the drivers side f+r tires and it's better..It all started when i rotated them so i guess it makes sence. If it continues i'll switch the pass side..But this is the last summer for these tires so i'd rather save the 100 bucks for the road force balancing.

Took the '97 LSC out last night to check the HID hi beams. Daaaaaaannngg! Those things are bright as all kinds of pure heck!!! I can actually see with them now! It's like having two slightly blue tinted suns shinig out in front of the car!

I actually like the stock g2 high beams.. I put in a little bluer bulbs when i bought it to better match the hids..They sucked after that, can't remember if i switched back or not. But hey, if ya got em why not.

Well got to drive it some today..Seems like it's 90% gone..Certaintly tolerable so i'm much happier.

A question for you guys though. I have roughly 5/32's left on my tires, Should i bother spending the 90 bucks getting them balanced? I plan on buying new ones next spring. I bought them w/ roughly 6-7/32's and they lasted 2 summers to the point that there at know.

Drove the '96 to work today. First time it's been driven in over a week. She needs some work. She's running like $h!t. I need to get O2 sensors, IAC, TPS, plugs, and wires. Then I think everything will smooth out. Just have to wait until I can afford it. Being broke sucks.

Dropped the new cobra rotors off at the machine shop to get redrilled! Ready to get them on!

Getting ready to change tranny fluid and filters in both Marks today. And I remembered that I said a few pages ago that I would post a picture of the oil pan drain valve I have on my '96 Mark. And here it is:

Drain Valve.jpg

I put that on there soon after I got the car. So it's been on for about ten years. And it works great.

Honestly, I can't remember exactly where I got it. I think I ordered it out of a car magazing of some kind. It's been so long ago, it just escapes me:confused:

But I've never seen another one like it since. And I've searched because I want one for the '97 LSC and for my '94 Exploder. If I remember or find one, I'll let ya know.:)

Found it!!!!

This looks pretty much exactly like the one I have. I don't remember mine costing that much though:(
