the marks motor is a hell of alot more reliable. hp wise the ns's varied..iirc they were between 270-300ish depending on the model.

Cadillacs w/Northstar are a half second quicker 0-60... theoretically (by the manufacturer's data from booklets).

I know its more reliable gm could not make a paper bag right I hear they have head bolt problems so there a even match

Northstars are horrible!!! Wait till you ever get a chance to do a water pump on one! Rofl...if I remember correctly, it's a 7flag hour job

They (Northstars) have very good power output, but horrible in any mechanic treatment (so they are good only new :) )

They also decided to make the cylinder cross hatch with a blenders blade. Northstar has its neat features but has way more things that make you scratch your head.

north star

this is why I stick to my fords you see my family are die hard chevy lovers they all hate my lincoln because they dont have nothing faster they all say fords are hard to work on but I dont know

I put both front air shocks on today. It took a week to get them since American Air was sold out. They dropped shipped them from the mfg. What did I get? 2 ARNOTT AIR SHOCKS!! Hey, they were $10.00 cheaper. Last week I put in a new compressor from ARNOTT. My wife want's to know why I put a cement mixer in the car. Good news it all works fine, and I can tell when the compressor working. Watch out when you pay more for 3 day shipping. I looked it up at UPS, and 3 day and regular shipping would get to me on the same day. ARNOTT refunded me the difference, and it only took 4 days to get here. Threw in some new 5150k bulbs. Changed the low washer sensor. Not a fun job. 107K miles and runs like new. Thanks to this forum and all it's members. Keep the shiney side up

I think Arnott is a lot better than they used to be. The first set of Arnotts I bought lasted 13 months. The set I currently have on my '96 have been on there since Jan. '09 and no problems yet (crosses fingers). And they're...relatively...cheap. At least compared to OEM. Not cheap enough to replace yearly, but it they last 5 years I'll be happy.:D

The only thing I don't like about the Arnott front shocks is that they are so soft and mushy. The hydraulics are definitely designed for a plush luxury ride. They are not built for handling by any stretch of the imagination. That's why I wish they made LSC shocks in addition to the base model shocks. My wife's LSC has a very firm ride and handles great. Mine is soft and fluffy with plenty of body roll. I liked the soft fluffy ride when I had my Town Car. Not so much with the Mark.

Today I managed to attempt to find out why my drivers seat has gremlins. It works most times, but occasionally decides to remain fixed. I cleaned the connectors cleaned the track as best I could and voila, worked great- for ten minutes. On to the stereo. The rear package tray has me baffled. I've been told that there are screws as well as a clip holding it up, but it seems the only alternative is brute force. It does hinge on the right side, correct? This reminds me of my dilemma when releasing the air pressure to the bags - once done it seems easy, until then....... Oh well, it is clean again. When frustrated, I wash everything in sight. Now if I could just get the smoke smell out - along with the rear amp.

Take the back dash panel out first...you'll see what you need to do to drop the amp rack

I got new(ish) tires, 225/60/16 for my 10spokes. Michelins with 80% tread. 4 for $140 installed :) and I'm trying to secure some Gen II side mirrors, whats a reasonable price for a pair?

just a bevy of fun here....blew the month old alt in Tux, my 96, and have been driving around with the CEL on in LBD, my 95... (not 05, thank you jamie ; )~ )

still searching for a 96 LSC....
