What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Threw on my Kirban adjustable FPR. It is a good bit taller than stock but fits on with no problems.

Removed the valve covers, front and rear brake calipers and brackets, dust shields, Saturn braces, and the rear diff. Taking them all to get coated red. Just because...

It appears to have solved my hard starting problem. It has an additional gasket at the base instead of O-rings only like the stock one.

Watched (and listened - LOVE THOSE GLASSPACKS!!!) the wife drive the '97 LSC out of the driveway this morning. Looked at the '96 but drove the Exploder to work.

While I'm thinking about it, I'm gonna try this one more time - Does anybody know where I can get "Bright" Toreador red, paint code JB, and Opalescent, paint code WK, touch up paint. Regular Toreador, JL, won't work on my car. It's too dark. And JB and WK are obsolete through Ford. And I can't find either paint code at Wally World, Advance, AutoZone, O'Reiley's, NAPA, CarQuest, or anywhere. Does anyone have any extra laying around? I just need to touch up a few little chips on both cars. And yes, I did check with Nappy Auto about mixing me up some. The price was fuggin hilarious.

Google the paint code with duplicolor in the search

Nope. Even went to the Duplicolor website. They don't have JB or WK. They have JL and JM (Dark Toreador Red) and WT (Performance White), but not my colors. That's just my luck that I get two Mark VIII's with the frakkin obsolete colors.:( What really pi$$es me off is that they do have DD Mocha Frost for my frakkin 16 year old 1994 Exploder!! But I did find this:

Looks promising. And they DO have Bright Toreador Red and Opalescent!!! Amazing! I think I may try it and see if it works.

Replacing the strut bushing at the control arm and HATING EVERY MINUTE OF IT! I still cant get the strut arm out and i've striped most of the nuts. Any know who sells that strut bushing kit that has the nuts with it?

I think only Ford has the complete kit. Just out of curiosity, are you replacing OEM with OEM or what? I ask because the aftermarket ones use a different sleeve and if you have Moogs in there and are trying to replace with OEM then you will also have to get the sleeves and those only come in the $200 kit. :(

I will go outside now and check but I am pretty sure I have two spare strut rod nuts if you want me to mail them to you.

Yup, I got two of them. One has the washer attached and one dont but they will both work fine if you want me to mail them to you.

Had my drivers exterior door handle replaced with the updated version. The spring was broke and it would not sit flush.
Used a guy from Craigs that specializes in window, door, key repairs. Glad it was him and not me. Took him longer than he thought.

Replaced the front sway bar bushings. Boy that was fun with it on the car. The new bushings space it up enough to keep the lock collars from rubbing the k-member. Also it seems the mount didnt hold the old bushings correctly and they were loose around the sway bar. Steering and tracking is MUCH tighter now.

Unfortunatly as I expected they were not the only rattle. The end links are worn and loose like hell. Thanks again SCP for another quality part.

Got some stuff back from the powdercoater this weekend.

This is only the first set of stuff. Nothing too exciting yet, but more is on the way.

Crossover tube. This pic really doesn't do it justice, the finish is like glass.

Emission tray. I managed to get a rust-free one on ebay a while back, but the paint was a little rough. Not any more. I almost don't want to put this on the car because it's literally a perfect 10 now. In the mean time I will use it as a dinner tray.

'03 Cobra exhaust manifolds (a.k.a. "Poor man's headers").
I went with a rather dull gray ceramic coat, I'd probably go with something brighter if I did it again, but these will do.

Gonna being doing something fancy with valve and coil covers, but need to do some work on them first. Here's a preview:

They're pretty sweet as is, but I have some ideas to spice them up. Granted you won't even see the passenger side and the driver's side isn't much better, but what the hell.

Since the car's in storage for winter, I'm planning on stripping the engine of pretty much everything bolted on and replace or refinish. Jeremi got me started with all the miraculous work he did on my undercarriage and Laser inspired me further with his awesome progress thread.

looked at a Eaton M90 Supercharger and wondering would it be worth the money to start buying parts for my supercharger?
