Blew it up. Not today but yeah. :q:q:q:q.
it lifts up 4 inches higher than stock
You got it sittin' on the ground like that on purpose???
sure do cut it up and did custom suspension to make it lay flat on the ground. If it ain't low it ain't :q:q:q:q
Yesterday I finally installed the new air injection pump, and no more CEL. Yay! haha
Congratulations! How hard was it? How long did it take? I'm still considering trying to install mine on the '96 tomorrow. But first, I have to fix the leaky solenoid on the d/s front air spring because I got a call from an interested party yesterday who wants to see it. I told him about the problems and he was still interested. So the air spring comes first.
On my Gen 2, it was cake. Jacked the front end up, got under it, took down that front valance under the bumper cover, and there it was. There were three 10mm bolts that held it into the bracket, unbolted those, unplugged it, and cut the one time use stupid hose clamp and out it came. Bolted the new one up, plugged it it, fitted the hose on, went to AutoZone, bought a hose clamp, came home and put the clamp on the hose, and bolted the valance back up.
I'd say, since I didn't have the right tools, since I had to leave my box at my previous job for a few weeks, unlocked, my stuff was picked through and I was missing quite a few sockets, and extensions, after I rigged something up, and went and got the hose clamp, I'd say about an hour and a half. If you have the right tools, and get a hose clamp in advanced, its an easy 30-45 minute job, if even that long.
Thats great. Glad you got it fixed. I don't think it'll be that easy on my '96. I do think the bumper has to come off. If that is the case, I'll probably have to hold off for a while. I need to get the suspension working first.
On a side note: Found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1995...96?pt=Other_Vehicle_Parts&hash=item3f0b6d2f10 today. Price seems a tad high to me. And no mileage was given. But they are OEM and appear to hold air. But that's still a pile o' green for used air springs. Even with the compressor.
got the mark out of the garage to go over to my friends house (just hit 62K miles). he totaled his 1979 firebird..... just like i said he would..... oh well. what a shame
