Well, guess I'll keep my eyes open and hope to find a replacement.... Thanks for the replies. Maybe I'll build that CNC Machine I've been wanting and cut my own!

Piece of front body fell off...

This was a little interesting, a piece of the front fender/grill fell off my 01 LS V8... I didn't even hear it happen but noticed it was gone the other day. I searched the local junk yards with no luck... Any ideas on how to get a replacement for it? thanks Mark.

Anyone know the part number for this and whether bushing sold separately?

Just reading through several threads as my 2001 LS V8 Sport failed inspection yesterday due to the "rear outer tie rods" on both sides per the mechanic, plus the front right outer tie rod. I asked him to confirm if it was the rear toe links and not tie rods and he repeated they are tie rods, so...

    micrometer solenoid repair

Been reading quite a bit about transmission issues in the forum. I've got a 2001 LS V8 sport with 185K miles - after it warms up (shifts fine when cold) it hesitates or sticks when hitting the gas at about 40 mph to 50 mph then eventually gets into 5th and drives fine once I reach 60 mph or...

quote for MAF replacement and struts...

Just wondering if this sounds reasonable - I think it's high. The car died yesterday and worked after unplugging the MAF sensor (thanks to reading this site). I'm fairly decent at doing things myself but have never dealt with struts. Did replace the steering knuckle myself a few years ago...

    unplugged MAF test question

had the exact same issue... Disconnected the MAF sensor and it runs... cancelled the tow truck and alleviated the headache ... this site saves the day for me (again)!

    engine coolant filler cap

I called the local dealer and he indicated they can't sell the cap as a stand alone part... sounds odd. And I can't get my CD to work on my computer to look up the part number. Anyone know the part number for the coolant filler cap - with the hex opening in the center? Or even the Jaguar...

Thanks. I'm surprised the 10 mm stripped it so easily...

    engine coolant filler cap

Unfortunately I have buggered the fill cap for the engine coolant on my 2001 3.9 liter as I've started the process for replacing the Degas bottle. I thought the10mm hex nut wasthe right size and I did get it off - put it back on and then just hand tightened it as I was doing some otherthings...

    Won't start - bummer!

Great - it started! Pressed the gas pedal down halfway and it started right up with a nice belch of toxic fumes in the garage. Drove it for a while and it is idling a little rough, so I will be cleaning the IAC for X-Mas. Thanks guys for all of your help! Mark.

    Won't start - bummer!

Thanks - I'll give the IAC a look at tonight. The battery sounds a little drained probably due to the cold and it's been a few days now since I started it. It was idling a little awkward recently - just after start up for about 10 seconds, it would idle a little low and rough, after which...

    Valve Cover Gaskets

If you go through the process to change them yourself, you will kick yourself if you don't put new ones in and the old ones with sealer fail some time thereafter... It's a PITA job in my opinion unless you have really small hands - so once you gain access to them anything but new will seem...

    Won't start - bummer!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=as7sdCzv5y4 Hopefully the video comes through. Started fine the other day when my wife moved the car a few feet - now it won't start. It seems to crank, but nothing beyond that. Has 1/2 tank of gas and I replaced the fuel pump about 6 months ago and the fuel...

seemed fine - now won't start

dealer said it was the main fuel pump - $775 later it's apparently fixed and ready for me to pick up..... I saw the part online for $240 - but would have to tow the vehicle home and take the time off work to coordinate that..... I love building up a supply of tools and such to work on...

seemed fine - now won't start

thanks - it's at the dealer getting the $88 diagnostic! I'm hoping for some good news....

seemed fine - now won't start

Did some searching thru the threads - wife drove about 35 highway miles to work this morning and said the car ran fine. after work - it wouldn't start. It's cranking just fine, no warning lights or anything unusual. No alarm issues or anything like that. Jump starting didn't make a...

Coil Misfire Experts Please HELP ! Strange

I have an 8 pack of some of those same coils sitting in my garage. Everything seemed the same except the electrical connector - it was not a true fit. I went ahead and purchased the OEM's and completed the job. Always wondered if the cheaper ones would have worked as the metal parts of the...

    Coil Exchange question

I'm right at 100K miles. Is the ball joint the part on the steering knuckle that is prone to failure, or something different? I replaced the front right knuckle a while back and have the left one sitting in my garage awaiting failure!
