I had the exact same problem last week. The bolt isn't reverse thread and more than likely it is not stripped. The bolt has quite a bit of thread on it and you must continue to losen it until unthreads itself. Patience is a virtue.
You have nothing to lose; if you do it right it's a permanent repair. I cant tell but if this is the finished (pretty) side of the rim, be sure to use a small block of wood to prevent hammer marks.
Purchase a butane torch and a large head hammer. Heat rim slightly on bend and carefully hammer rim back into shape. If this is your rim in the lower pictures this method will surely work.
